Days Of Our Lives is saying goodbye to one Salem resident, and her name is Abigail Devereaux DiMera. For months, fans have been wondering what would happen with Kate Mansi’s character. Her final air date has been revealed, and there is new information on if Abby will be recast or if they are getting rid of her character for good.

Abigail is a well-liked character on Days Of Our Lives. She has made plenty of mistakes, such as sleeping with EJ DiMera. However, Abby turned things around, and viewers ended up falling in love with the character. When Kate Mansi confirmed she was leaving the NBC soap opera, fans were upset by the news. Abigail’s storyline on Days Of Our Lives turned from a fairy tale romance to a dark, twisted journey that resulted in post-traumatic stress. Her perfect boyfriend, Ben Weston, ended up being a killer. He abducted Abby, made her give birth in a cabin, then murdered the stranger who delivered the baby. He also nearly burned her and Chad DiMera alive while having the newborn watch. If that were not enough, Ben ended up kidnapping the little boy, then refused to reveal the abandoned baby’s location. Thankfully, they survived the ordeal, but not without Abigail having psychological problems.

Once Ben escaped the psychiatric facility, he appeared to Abigail in hallucinations. She ended up having to be admitted to a mental hospital, but that hasn’t been going very well. Recently, Kate’s character cut off all contact with her new husband as well as her new baby. Lately, Mansi hasn’t been seen on the television screen very often. However, she still does have an occasional scene. Expect to continue to see Abigail Devereaux DiMera until June 24, according to Kate Mansi’s Instagram post.

Casting calls have gone out for Days Of Our Lives. None specifically were for Abigail, but many TV shows use other names to avoid spoilers. This seems to be the case when it comes to Kate’s replacement. It was reported that the casting call went out in November 2015, but the soap opera couldn’t find the right actress. In March 2016, the search continued for the right person to play Abigail on Days Of Our Lives, according to She Knows.

It seems that someone has finally been chosen. Based on social media posts, there is talk that Mansi’s replacement will debut in September. However, there is no word on who will play the role of Abigail on Days Of Our Lives.

With Mansi’s last air date in late June and her replacement not appearing until September, what will happen with Abigail? Not wanting to see her own family, Abby could remain at the psychiatric hospital. However, there is a rumor that Abby will actually disappear.
