Kim Kardashian Shows Off Post-Baby Weight Loss: How Much Does She Weigh Now?


Kim Kardashian has made no secret of the fact that she’s on a mission to lose all of her baby weight — and then some! On Tuesday, the mother of North and Saint West snapped a photo of her scale to show her Snapchat followers just how far she’s come, and how far she still hopes to go.

Kim K has reached her pre-baby weight goal of less than 135 pounds, and if Kardashian’s recent snap is to be believed, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star isn’t stopping anytime soon! Her photo showed a shot of her scale reading 132 pounds, and alongside the image Kim added a bit of commentary. “12 pounds to reach 2010 Kim,” she wrote.

Apparently, things have been going so well throughout Kim Kardashian’s weight loss efforts that she wants to lose another 12 pounds. The 35-year-old star has been extremely candid about the struggles she faced while pregnant, including a nearly 70-pound weight gain with baby Saint. Kim’s little boy was born in December, and the reality TV star has spent the months since working her tail off to get back into shape and feel good again.

According to Hollywood Life, Kim Kardashian last shared a picture of her scale about a month ago, and at that point she weighed about 135 pounds. At the time, Kardashian credited her quick weight loss to the Atkins40 Plan.

According to People, Kim reportedly lost more than 48 pounds in three months. The magazine reports that Kardashian eats 1,800 calories of protein and healthy fats each day, and she consumes zero grams of sugar. Zilch. Absolutely none.

Kim followed a similar plan after the birth of her daughter, North West, in 2013, though Kardashian admits that losing the weight this time around has been a little bit easier.

“I gained a lot of weight and I have a lot to lose,” Kim told reporters last month. “This time I think weight has come off quicker than last time because I kind of learned how to eat better. Last time I worked out a little bit harder. This time I’m eating differently.”

Additionally, Kardashian has been open about her workout regimen, which requires the KUWTK star to wake up early in the morning. Kim K admits that she dislikes waking up to workout, but notes that “it’s a must,” according to People.

While Kardashian has been successful in her post-pregnancy weight loss, she has been criticized by some media outlets for creating an unrealistic expectation for new mothers. Yahoo News, for example, notes that most women don’t have the same resources available that Kim Kardashian has.

“Great for Kim. But is it great for ordinary mothers — sans personal trainers, personal chefs, the emoji-based support of millions of fans — who struggle to lose post-pregnancy weight? The pressure to slim down post-baby in the public sphere is enormous, and those who do so, perpetuate an arguably unhealthy obsession with postpartum weight loss.”

The article goes on to note other celebrities who have slimmed down quickly, and adds that the National Institute of Health recommends that women take up to a year to lose the baby weight. Yahoo News goes on to write,

“So, while we’re happy for Kardashian West, it might behoove her to bear this in mind during her very public celebration of post-pregnancy weight loss.”
