‘Jurassic World’ Star Chris Pratt Marks Memorial Day 2016 By Sharing Bible Verse And Ronald Reagan Speech

It’s not uncommon for Hollywood stars to mark Memorial Day with a tribute to fallen troops. However, the most touching tribute as part of Memorial Day 2016 came from Jurassic World star Chris Pratt. According to Twitchy, Chris Pratt took to Twitter to share his support for the country’s armed forces, with a Bible verse and a link to a speech made by Ronald Reagan around the commemorative event.

Unknown to many, Chris Pratt has been very vocal about his faith in the past, saying that the birth of his son Jack restored his faith in God, and that’s a sentiment that’s shown through his Memorial Day tribute. According to Western Journalism, in his tweet, Chris Pratt recognised that Ronald Reagan is now something of a controversial political figure, but wished followers a happy Memorial Day and shared John 15:13.

That particular verse reads “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” It’s hard to deny that Chris Pratt couldn’t have shared a much more touching link between his faith and the sombre mood of Memorial Day. However, Chris Pratt seemingly forgot to attach a link to the Ronald Reagan speech he was talking about – Reagan was, of course, a devout Christian himself. That said, Chris Pratt’s tweets attracted a good deal of admiration from followers, who were clearly moved by his Memorial Day tribute.

Ronald Reagan’s Memorial Day speech is arguably one of the most well-known tributes to fallen soldiers and reads:

“For some of us here today, our love is the unquenchable, unforgetting love of a wife or child for a fallen father, of a mother or father for a fallen son… For others of us, this love, while more distant, is still anguished and grieving; ours is a love for a fallen countryman who died so that we, a free people, might live and this great nation endure. Even as we hear these words, we understand again their inadequacy.”

Whether Chris Pratt is an admirer of Ronald Reagan as a political figure or just of this particular speech remains to be seen. However, it isn’t very often that prominent Hollywood figures are seen quoting both the Bible and the controversial Republican leader, who served as president between 1981 and 1989.

Chris Pratt has risen to fame as a leading Hollywood figure for his appearances in The Lego Movie, Jurassic World, and of course, Guardians of the Galaxy. However, it was the small screen where Chris Pratt started his career as a star of the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation. It was that appearance that rocketed Pratt to fame, securing him roles in the aforementioned box office hits. At the same time, Chris Pratt saw huge personal changes, losing a considerable amount of weight before being ranked as No. 2 on People Magazine‘s annual list of the sexiest men alive.

Chris Pratt’s acting career doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon, however. In 2016, he’s set to star in The Magnificent Seven and alongside Jeniffer Lawrence in Passengers. What’s more, in 2017, Pratt will return to the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise for its second volume.

It’s pretty easy to see that Chris Pratt has a lot to be thankful for, and that’s a sentiment that’s run through his Memorial Day 2016 tribute, which is arguably the most touching tribute from any Hollywood star.
