Shia LaBeouf: ‘Lawless’ Star Talks About The ‘Downfall Of My Career’

Shia LaBeouf isn’t a man of meek words or actions. Rather the bold actor has recently said that he believes there is no room to be a visionary in Hollywood studio films and, in an even bolder stroke, has announced that he will have actual sex during the filming of certain sex scenes for an upcoming film.

Shia LaBeouf, who stared in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Transformers: Dark of the Moon among other blockbusters, knows his bold words make him an attractive target for the press, and he tells the L.A. Times that it could be his undoing when all is said and done.

“I wish I prepared for these things,” he told the L.A. Times at the red carpet premiere for his new film, Lawless. “And I don’t, which is probably the downfall of my career.”

LaBeouf will head to the Toronto International Film Festival next month, where he will promote his new Robert Redford directed movie The Company You Keep. In that role, he plays a journalist. For that role, he spent time with L.A. Times reporter Robert Faturechi, and developed some appreciation for reporters.

“I studied (Faturechi) for a while,” Shia LaBeouf said. “That’s who I’m playing. He’s my muse. You guys really helped me. Thank you, L.A. Times.”

LaBeouf is a busy man lately. Contact Music reports he recently appeared naked in a Sigur Ros music video and soon Shia LaBeouf will star in the crime drama Triple Nine with Lawless director John Hillcoat.
