Josh Duggar and his wife Anna shared with fans a Memorial Day statement that assured fans that they’re still together—although Anna admitted that it’s still a long road to recovery. According to insiders, Josh hasn’t changed that much, and the road might be harder than Anna believes.
On the Duggar Family Blog website, Anna and Josh shared a statement with fans that thanked “each of you for the prayers, love and encouragement you’ve sent our way.” Although Josh has become a poster child for hypocrisy since admitting he suffered from a pornography addiction and cheated on his wife, many followers of 19 Kids & Counting have supported Josh and Anna throughout this rocky point in their marriage and genuinely wish the Duggar family well.

In their joint statement, Anna Duggar acknowledged that she and her husband “have been working with a professional marriage and family counselor to take important steps toward healing” since Josh left his residential treatment program a couple months ago. But Anna also acknowledged that rebuilding her relationship with Duggar, who had been leading a double life that even his brothers and sisters never knew about, “isn’t easy and some days are very difficult.”
When the truth about Duggar was exposed, Anna was heavily encouraged by fans and TLC viewers to leave him, but the mother of four admitted that she wasn’t going to leave him anytime soon, explaining that her faith made it impossible. While Josh was in rehab, Anna lived with the Duggar family in their house, sharing a room with her sisters-in-law.
While he was in the Illinois rehab facility, Anna visited her husband but admitted on an episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On that her heart really was broken to find out her husband wasn’t who she believed he was. Revealing that seeing Josh “was great because it definitely gives a lot of hope,” Duggar confessed to her sisters-in-law that “the weight of everything is there and so it definitely drives me deeper to my faith.”

Now that Josh is home, he and Anna have their own house, and although “[i]t is a long road to rebuild trust and a truly healthy relationship,” the couple is “very thankful for God’s forgiveness, grace, and help, as it is our strength and guide to rebuilding our lives,” Anna revealed to fans.
The Duggar family concluded their statement by admitting that “[a]s the future unfolds, we are taking one day at a time and we are grateful for your continued prayers for both of us and our sweet children.”
According to insiders, however, Josh hasn’t changed one bit since leaving rehab, and his family is keeping a tight leash. A source close to Anna and Josh revealed that while the couple was in Florida to mourn the passing of Anna’s grandmother, Josh seemed unconcerned about the sad affair and completely focused on himself.

The insider said “I was expecting Josh to be much more humble and quiet, a less arrogant person after everything he’d done, but nope,” adding that Duggar was “the same old Josh, constantly talking, full of himself, really aggressive and making Anna do everything – not helpful to her at all.” Similarly, fans have criticized Josh for appearing at a graduation ceremony in Pensacola, Florida, and agreeing to pose for selfies with some of the younger college girls.
Other fans assert that the reason Anna has stuck with Josh Duggar is because she’s pregnant again. According to sources, Anna might already be pregnant with baby number five since the conservative Christian Duggars are famous for not using birth control.
An insider revealed to In Touch magazine that “I would have hoped they’d have put the brakes on sex after he got out [of rehab], but they are back to their normal sex routine,” adding that “I would not be surprised one bit if Anna is already pregnant.”
