Accusing Johnny Depp Of Domestic Violence, Amber Heard Drops A Bombshell, Seeks Restraining Order
The divorce proceedings have just gotten uglier between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The actress is now claiming she is divorcing Depp because of domestic violence, and Heard is also requesting a restraining order because she is scared. Heard claims that the beatings are not a one-time deal, as she has just shown up in court with a bruised face while asking for the court’s help with a protective order. Heard is alleging that the last beating was on Saturday, when Depp bashed her iPhone into her face.
Domestic violence and threats of violence seem to be on the rise in Hollywood. For example, several women in Charlie Sheen’s life have told the court that they are afraid of his violent temper and threats, according to the Inquisitr. Denise Richards, in particular, says that Sheen has terrorized her and her daughters, leaving violent texts on her phone and the phones of their minor daughters. But the violence that Heard is alleging at the hands of Depp seems pressing at this time.
TMZ reports that Amber Heard, along with lawyer Samantha Spector, showed up in court asking for a restraining order to protect the actress from her now-estranged husband, Johnny Depp. Heard was armed with many photos of what she claims is a history of spousal abuse, and this is why Amber Heard filed for divorce at such a sensitive time for Johnny Depp, given the death of Depp’s mother. When Heard showed up in court, she had a bruised eye and face that she claims came from an iPhone slammed against her face by Johnny Depp.
Heard is saying that after the assault, Depp regained his composure and offered her money for her silence, but instead, she left and filed for divorce. Depp is out of town at the moment to promote his new movie, according to his lawyer, Laura Wasser, who spoke on his behalf. She is curious why Heard has a sense of danger that is so emergent when Depp is on tour. Wasser finds it curious that Heard filed divorce three days after Depp’s mother died and cries domestic violence one week after the death of Depp’s mother. To Wasser, Heard’s claims seem awfully convenient.

Page Six is saying that this accusation of domestic violence by Amber Heard could be a game changer in the divorce proceedings against Johnny Depp. Fans thought that Heard was incredibly heartless, filing for divorce right on the heels of Johnny Depp’s mother’s death after a long illness. Depp and his mother were close, and so the timing of the divorce filing seemed hurtful, at the very least, as if Amber Heard was trying to stick it to Depp.
Amber Heard says that violence by Johnny Depp has been going on throughout their marriage and that she has kept photos. However, a Hollywood source says it isn’t just that Depp might have a violent streak — behind it is an alleged substance abuse problem.

Depp and Heard have been married for 15 months, but reports claim that the relationship has been on the rocks since the third month. In addition to a divorce and a restraining order, Amber Heard is seeking spousal support from Johnny Depp. Yesterday, Depp acknowledged the divorce with a public statement.
“Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”

People Magazine has quoted a source who says that the alleged domestic violence against Amber Heard at the hands of Johnny Depp was not the first incident, and Heard is still in danger.
“This was not an isolated event. This was only the latest incident.”
The source also said that though it was bad timing, but Heard had to do what she did “after months of strife.”
“Amber did what she had to do to take care of herself.”
