The Duggar Family’s Favorite Mission Group Made This Shocking Statement About Transgender Bathrooms

The Duggar family is known for their conservative Christian values and anti-LGBT attitudes. However, a recent email sent from the Duggar’s favorite mission organization takes the transgender bathroom debate to a whole new level.

Michelle Duggar made the infamous robocall asking Arkansas residents to strike down the state’s proposed anti-discrimination laws that would give those in the LGBT community equal access to employment, housing and other services. However, that robocall is put to shame by the recent email from S.O.S. Ministries regarding the transgender bathroom issue unfolding here in the United States.

An email sent by S.O.S. Ministries outlines mission work the organization is doing in the Middle East. While the email seemed to be a basic overview of the evangelism the organization is doing in Muslim nations, there was a slightly hidden message about the transgender bathroom issue that is somewhat questionable in nature.

“While the USA is consumed with the whole transgender debate and giving a very inappropriate response to them using opposite sex bathrooms and showers, it is very simple in the Middle East…if a man goes into a women’s bathroom it is capital punishment, they will stone him to death on the spot.”

The email calls the United State’s response to the transgender bathroom issue “very inappropriate” while stating it is “very simple” in the Middle East. While S.O.S. Ministries calls a transgender woman using the women’s restroom “highly inappropriate” they refer to the idea of stoning to death a transgender woman who entered a female restroom “very simple.”

While the email did not advocate for the stoning of transgender women in the United States, it did not condemn it either. Instead, it called the anti-discrimination laws in the United States “very inappropriate” while seemingly condoning the Middle East’s approach.

This type of response is not entirely surprising from the Duggar-supported organization; however, if the group does not openly rebuke this idea, it would be a new low for the organization. Whether you agree with transgender bathroom laws or not, many would agree that a penalty of death is not the standard of “simple” we want to follow here in the United States.

S.O.S. Ministries has close ties to the Duggar family as it has been featured heavily on both of the TLC Duggar series and is the organization that Duggar daughter Jill Dillard is currently working with in Central America. Jill and Derick Dillard live in the S.O.S. Ministries “Hospitality House,” which hosts incoming missions teams and provides the family a place to live while in the country.

The organization was recently featured on the new Duggar series Jill & Jessa: Counting On as some of the Duggars flew to Central America to visit Jill and do some “mission work.” With Michelle Duggar using her reality star fame to make the robocall in Arkansas aimed at squashing the LGBT anti-discrimination bill, it is not a stretch to believe that the mission organization the Duggars most closely support would hold similar beliefs.

This isn’t the first controversial statement made by the Duggar family regarding a variety of hot button issues.
