Duggar Drama: Cousin Amy Floods Social Media With Ad Spots, Accused Of Selling Duggar Secrets To Tabloids

Duggar cousin Amy King has been accused of relying on her uncle’s “fame” for her own financial stability by capitalizing on her ever-so-moderate reality stardom to promote products for businesses on her social media accounts. Additionally, Amy King has been accused of selling the Duggar family secrets to the highest bidding tabloid, which allows her to maintain a lifestyle of seeming unemployment.

The Duggar family has been plagued with scandal as the family’s darkest secrets were revealed to the public. The Duggar’s oldest son Josh admitted to molesting his sisters as a teenager and to harboring a pornography addiction into adulthood. However, the revelations about Josh Duggar didn’t end there, the seemingly perfect marriage with wife Anna Duggar was revealed as a sham to Duggar fans when Josh admitted he had not remained faithful to his loving wife.

As a result of the scandals, the family lost their long-running TLC series 19 Kids and Counting and were forced to “re-brand” their family without Josh. The result is the latest Duggar series Jill & Jessa: Counting On. While the family has attempted to remain unified in their statements about Josh often defaulting to talk of forgiveness, not everyone in the Duggar family is on board with the Duggar family image rebuild.

There is one Duggar that has been accused of receiving financial gain at the expense of the other Duggars, cousin Amy King. Cousin Amy was often featured alongside her cousins on 19 Kids and Counting, but was dropped into obscurity when the show was cancelled and TLC passed on a Amy Duggar-Dillon King wedding special. Following the cancellation of the wedding program, TLC moved on to work with Amy’s cousins on a re-packaged Duggar program focused on the life of the Duggar siblings as they grow and start their own families. However, it seems there really isn’t much room on the program for cousin Amy, so many have speculated that is why she has no problem selling her family’s secrets to the tabloids to earn a little side income.

The Hollywood Gossip often refers to the InTouch Weekly “inside source” as Amy King. Though the publication cannot prove that Amy is the source, they consistently note that she is the likely source to the leaked Duggar stories. However, if Amy King is leaking stories to the media about her conservative family members, she obviously isn’t making enough money to sustain her lifestyle and has resorted to flooding her social media pages with product advertisements.

Here are some of the most recent product endorsements found on Amy King’s Instagram page.

While many fans on Instagram have criticized Amy for posting so many ads, others are standing up for the reality star claiming that if people don’t like the posts they can stop following her online. While many have criticized the Kings for taking “too many vacations” and “not working,” Dillon King says that the idea that the pair don’t work is a lie.

King took to his personal social media pages to put an end to rumors that he doesn’t work. Dillon says he married into the Duggar family, but does not rely on their fame to pay his bills. Instead, he says he has a job. The Examiner says Dillon takes offense to those that call him an “unemployment grifter” and that he has always worked since the age of 16.

“We have never asked for money nor will we ever. I’ve been working and punching a clock since I was 16 years old, so I’m very aware of how going to work and making your own money really is. I married into the Duggar family. That doesn’t mean I don’t have a job.”

So is Dillon King really employed outside of reality star fame and ad placements? Dillon works for Wet Ink Design, a Rogers, Arkansas, company which specialized in transfer printing and vehicle restoration and modification. It is unclear how much money Amy King makes from ad placement and if the Kings frequent traveling is paid for by Dillon’s employment or Amy’s ad gigs.

What do you think about Amy King’s boost in ad placements on her social media pages? Do you think the Kings qualify as grifters or does Dillon’s outside employment set them apart from some of the other Duggar family members? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
