Battlefield 3: Armored Kill DLC Release Date Announced

Armored Kill’s projected September release date is just around the corner, and now EA and DICE have provided a more specific release date for Battlefield 3‘s third expansion.

As previously reported, Armored Kill will be available on PlayStation 3 first on September 4, provided you’ve subscribed to Battlefield 3‘s Premium service. For PC and Xbox 360 Premium subscribers, you’ll get your early access one week later on September 11.

For those of you who don’t plan on picking up Battlefield 3 Premium, PlayStation 3 owners will have access to the Armored Kill expansion on September 18 while PC and Xbox 360 users will have to wait even longer for their September 25 Armored Kill release date.

If you just can’t wait that long to get a taste of Armored Kill, DICE recently revealed its August content drop for Premium subscribers, and one of the items is a Premium-exclusive video with all-new footage of the expansion as well as a few tips to get you familiar with the four maps before you play it.

In related Battlefield 3 news, DICE also announced that it will be addressing one of the major complaints that console Battlefield 3 players have been voicing, which is a disappointing lack of official EA/DICE servers.

In a post on Battlelog, EA announced that it has quadrupled the number of official servers on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, meaning you’re far more likely to encounter those in matchmaking than you were before. To help you find them, here’s a tip from EA:

“For the best results if you want an official DICE server, please refer to the manual server browser and enter “DICE” as a search term. If you go to the Server information screen, all official DICE servers will have the owner set to “DICE”. Remember that you can favorite servers that you like so you can easily find them again on your next session.”
