Blake Lively Redefines ‘Baby Bump Fashion,’ Defends Woody Allen: ‘He’s Empowering To Women’

Blake Lively has been rocking new looks from Day 1 of the Cannes Film Festival, and viewers cannot help but wonder how many more stunning looks the Gossip Girl star has in stock to continue making wowing everyone at Cannes, according to Yahoo News.

Blake Lively has been the highlight of every single day of Cannes this year thanks to her outstanding outfits. On Day 1, the 28-year-old actress opted for an Esmerelda look, and then she appeared in an embellished red coat. A few nights later, Lively rocked that rhinestone gown and the most notable of all was her Disney fantasy Cinderella look.

And here’s the thing: Cannes ended on May 22, so Blake Lively had even more opportunities to surprise the film festival’s attendees with her new looks. And the most important thing is that Lively stays gorgeous in all those dresses while having a cute baby bump.

On Sunday, Blake Lively showed up at the BFG premiere wearing a stunning cascading blue gown that emphasized her adorable baby bump. The gown was created by Atelier Versace and made Lively look like a true queen of the day. Actually, not just the queen of the day, but the queen of this year’s Cannes.

Blake Lively, who is expecting her second child with husband and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, defended Woody Allen while promoting their film Café Society at the Cannes Film Festival, according to the Huffington Post.

Blake Lively addressed claims that Allen had sexually assaulted his daughter Dylan Farrow. The sexual assault allegations against the filmmaker were renewed on Day 1 of the Cannes after the host of this year’s ceremony, Laurent Lafitte, made a rape joke about Allen.
In her interview with the Los Angeles Times after the opening night ceremony, Blake Lively said Allen is “empowering to women,” adding that it’s “amazing” what the filmmaker has written for women around the world.

Allen’s movies’ plots often revolve around older men having sex with younger women, but Blake Lively claims that all those sexual assault accusations against the filmmaker didn’t change her opinion about him, nor did they influence her decision to work with him.

“It’s very dangerous to factor in things you don’t know anything about. I could [only] know my experience. And my experience with Woody is he’s empowering to women.”

Blake Lively also criticized Lafitte for making that rape joke about Allen, saying that any jokes about “rape, homophobia or Hitler” cannot be considered a joke. The 28-year-old actress added that the rape joke was “a hard thing to swallow” in 30 seconds.

A video showing an 18-year-old Blake Lively surfaced on the internet last week, according to Cosmopolitan. Looking all cute and glam, the actress, who wasn’t even cast to play her breakout role of Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl at the time, revealed her passion for fashion.

“I am a fashion girl. My mom, ever since I was little, she would get these really cool outfits from vintage stores and Urban Outfitters and, like, sew them up for me.”

And judging by Blake Lively’s Cannes Film Festival looks this year, it seems like she is still that fashion girl! When a reporter asked about her personal style, Lively said she loves vintage and unique items, but she doesn’t stick to one particular style and prefers to dress however she feels.

“I love antique jeans. The ones I’m wearing right now are called Radcliffe. They’re super super comfy and they’re a great fit. They’re the peg-leg kind…”

Blake Lively recently wrapped filming for Marc Forster-directed All I See Is You and Jaume Collet-Serra’s The Shallows.
