Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton Make Poo Look Adorable Ahead Of Billboard Music Awards Duet

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton got a hilarious makeover before taking the stage Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

Gwen and Blake performed “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” during the star-studded show, and Gwen Stefani treated her fans to an avalanche of behind-the-scenes Snapchats while she and her boyfriend prepared for their duet. As SheKnows reports, Gwen’s brother, Todd Stefani, accompanied the couple during their trip to Las Vegas, and he also decided to get in on the Snapchat fun. In fact, Gwen loved one of Todd’s crazy video clips so much that she decided to share it on her Twitter page.

In Todd’s silly Snapchat, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are staring intently at something on Blake’s phone. They have pretty serious expressions on their faces while they simultaneously smack gum, but Todd makes the moment hilarious by placing moving poop emoji stickers on their heads.

“Hey, how come you guys have poop on your head?” Todd can be heard asking the oblivious pair. Gwen Stefani made a “Hollaback Girl” reference when she shared the Snapchat on her Twitter page.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton didn’t rock animated poop emoji hats for their Billboard Awards performance of “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” but Gwen did drastically change her signature look. The blonde bombshell ditched her signature red lips in favor of a shiny nude gloss, and she decided to glam instead of edgy and punk. Gwen wore a sparkly, see-through gown covered with shimmery rhinestones, while Blake was a sharp-dressed man in a black plaid blazer, black dress shirt, and dark blue jeans. Gwen and Blake couldn’t take their eyes off one another during their performance, and they ended it with a warm hug.

Gwen Stefani and her cowboy beau looked a little more casual a few hours before the big show. Blake Shelton’s bass player, Rob Byus, shared a sweet Instagram photo of Blake with his arm around Gwen. It almost looks like Blake has his girlfriend in a headlock, but the smile on Gwen’s face says that she doesn’t mind have her neck squeezed by the “A Guy with a Girl” singer.

Blake and Gwen usually have huge smiles on their faces when they’re photographed together, and Blake revealed that their inability to look serious around one another made it difficult to rehearse for their previous performance of “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” on The Voice.

“The hardest part was not smiling throughout the whole thing while we’re singing it because we can’t believe this is happening. We still can’t believe this is happening,” Blake told Entertainment Tonight.

“It’s cool to be witness to something that’s this honest and fun.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton didn’t want to smile like two giddy teens in love during their performance because “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” isn’t really a happy song; it’s about feeling vulnerable and afraid of getting hurt after one relationship ends and another begins. As Us Weekly reports, Blake wrote a portion of the song and sent it to Gwen. She fell in love with the tune, and Blake asked her to finish writing it.

“The story is that he had written this song and sent it to me on my phone. He’s like, ‘I wrote this song.’ And I was like, ‘Whoa, what if I don’t like it? Huge turnoff!'” Gwen recounted during her appearance on Chelsea Handler’s Netflix show. “I listened to it and thought, Oh, my God, I love this. He said, ‘Write the rest of it.'”

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Gwen Stefani gushed about how much she enjoyed working on the brutally honest song with her boyfriend and how thrilled she was to have the opportunity to perform it live with him.

“Anytime I’ve ever collaborated with anyone, it’s always my favorite,” Gwen Stefani said. “But to do something with him — because he’s so talented and comes from such a different world — to make music together, it was just so shocking! So amazing to do it live and share it with everybody.”
