Identity Of Dead Robin In ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Now Confirmed – Could Lead To Future Movie Villain

There are a lot of things in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice that comic book fans latched onto, and know they have more importance than what attention was given to them. One huge piece of comic book history was a scene in the Batcave that showed Bruce Wayne looking at a suit spray-painted with the words “HAHAHA Joke’s on you BATMAN!” Many feel that they know this belonged to Robin, and now the identity of that Robin has been confirmed.

Please let it be known that there are SPOILERS ahead for a number of different things. If you haven’t yet seen Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice or read Batman: A Death in the Family, then stop reading now.

When the suit was shown in the Batcave, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) stared at it with incredible intent and had a look of pain on his face. Everyone pretty much knew when they saw the suit that it belonged to Robin, but many different rumors flew around as to which Robin it actually was.

Considering what is written on it, there is a very good chance that the suit belonged to Jason Todd who was killed in the graphic novel Batman: A Death in the Family. That death came at the hands of The Joker who beat him within an inch of his life and then blew him up.

Well, Movie Web has now confirmed that the suit in Dawn of Justice did indeed belong to Jason Todd at one point.

This information comes from a video that was recently posted on the Warner Bros. Hollywood Studio Tour page on Facebook. The video shows the tour guide giving a quick look through the DC Universe: The Exhibit, and he takes viewers on a look at many different artifacts and such.

At one point, the tour guide does confirm that the movie version of Robin is indeed Jason Todd who was the second person to take on that persona. Dick Grayson was the first.

As expected, this has led many to believe that The Red Hood could be the villain in a future DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film, but that is nothing more than a rumor at this time. It is known that the solo Batman film will have the hero of Gotham taking on multiple villains from the history of the franchise.

Nothing is ever directly said about Robin in Dawn of Justice, but the obvious hints are dropped that The Joker had something to do with his death. The Joker isn’t even directly name-dropped, but Bruce Wayne does reference him when he tells Clark Kent that he has “a bad history with freaks dressed like clowns.”

Jared Leto is going to star as The Joker in Suicide Squad due out on August 5. Ben Affleck will appear in the movie as Batman, but it isn’t known just how much he will be in it or what sort of interaction he’ll have with The Joker.

He does hop up on the sick clown’s car and goes for a ride at one point.

Maybe there will be references to Robin/Jason Todd in Suicide Squad, but that remains to be seen. Rumor has it that there will be a Batman vs. Joker face-off at some point in the film, but that’s not something that will be known until the film is released.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice didn’t do nearly as well in theaters as many thought or hoped it would do. Still, Warner Bros. is moving forward with the DCEU and continuing with the future films that will lead into Justice League. As there is now going to be a solo Batman movie, it’s quite possible that this suit of Jason Todd/Robin could play more into what takes place in that film and any future appearances by Ben Affleck’s character.
