Michelle Fields Hired By Huffington Post To Return To Covering Donald Trump

It looks as though Donald Trump is about to come under further scrutiny.

Michelle Fields, former reporter for Breitbart News Network, is set to begin covering likely Republican nominee Donald Trump. According to CNN, Fields will be working for the Huffington Post. She was recently involved in a legal battle with Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, where she set out to have charges pressed against him for battery.

The cause of it was an action by Lewandowski, when he grabbed Michelle Fields and maneuvered her out of Trump’s way after a press conference at Trump National Gold Club in Jupiter. According to Fields, the altercation had left bruises on her person. Ultimately, no charges were pressed against Lewandowski due to low probable cause. Still, it looks like the ordeal has left a bad taste in her mouth.

Michelle Fields even went so far as to state that the Trump campaign defamed her. With this in mind, it’s not hard to see why she would resume covering Donald Trump. It’s speculation at best, but it appears that she’s doing what she can to give the Republican nominee a hard time.

The Huffington Post’s bureau chief Ryan Grim called Michelle Fields “one of the most widely read chroniclers of the conservative movement.”

It appears that the feeling is mutual, as Michelle Fields said that she was “beyond excited to join one of the biggest names in political journalism.”

When asked for a statement on Sunday night, Michelle Fields had this to say in regards to the entirety of the presidential race.

“After the tumultuous events of the last few months, I am ready to get back to writing and reporting on what is without question the most bizarrely fascinating presidential race of my lifetime (and, perhaps, any lifetime).”

CNN reports that Michelle Fields will start her work with Huffington on Monday. As for why she left Breitbart, it was reported by Politico that Fields felt that the website hadn’t supported her as well as she felt would have been appropriate. Fields now has a bit of a personal history with Trump, and one can only wonder if Huffington is taking advantage of this.

It’s no secret that the Huffington Post takes their shots at Donald Trump with little reserve. They’ve gone as far as placing Donald Trump’s articles in the “entertainment” section, as well as giving him quite a few names that are outside of the one his parents gave him. Michelle Fields has had a hand deep in conservative media, but it looks like she’s jumped into the trenches with the liberal speakers of the Huffington.

The combination is a big one, if not bizarre from the standpoint that the Huffington is well aware of Fields and the altercations between herself and those of the Trump campaign. However, it was noted by Grim that it was doubtful that Michelle would get very close to Trump. The Huffington, among other news entities, has been denied press credentials. This dampens their ability to get close to Trump’s events, and Fields will be no exception.

“None of us get credentialed,” Ryan began telling CNN Money. “I assume that’ll be the case for her.”

Grim also made a statement in regards to Michelle Fields and the fact that she would be covering Trump.

“I’d say that we all have our biases, whether we admit it or not, but as always the work should stand for itself,” Grim stated in an email. Of course, he also didn’t leave out the fact that he was excited for Fields to jump at the green light.

How do you feel about the Huffington Post hiring Michelle Fields to cover Donald Trump? Do you think that it was a smart move? Is it inappropriate for someone with such a personal history to be involved in such a way? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
