Kim Kardashian Pregnancy Scare A Ploy To Bump Ratings Of ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’?

With the sisters love lives cold, ratings of their reality show may plummet

Is Kim Kardashian West trying to get closer to her fans, or is there something deeper behind her recent pregnancy scare?

Recently, Kim Kardashian-West took to Snapchat to reveal to fans that she was taking a pregnancy test after missing her period. Later, Kim K shared the result: not pregnant. While the Kardashian-Jenner women have a reputation for sometimes over-sharing, Kim Kardashian West’s pregnancy scare Snapchat was out of character for the 35-year-old reality star. When it comes to pregnancy, Kim Kardashian doesn’t usually share the big news with fans until a few months into the occasion.

According to People, there was a simple motive behind Kim Kardashian West’s pregnancy test Snapchat.

“… I just thought it was like funny, because I’ve been so private before and what do I really care if I was pregnant again?”

Kim Kardashian West has a point. Despite continued divorce rumors, her marriage to rapper Kanye West seems as stable as ever. In the early spring, news broke that Kanye West was $53 million in debt thanks to his expensive forays into the fashion industry, but that doesn’t mean there are money troubles in the Kardashian-West household. Reportedly, Kim Kardashian West’s net worth tops out at $85 million. In 2015 alone, Kim Kardashian West raked in about $52.5 million, more than twice what she made in 2014. Both Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West say they want more children. It probably wouldn’t make much of a difference if she were pregnant already.

But could there be a more business-related motive behind Kim Kardashian West’s now infamous pregnancy scare Snapchat?

According to Radar Online, Kim Kardashian West is on a mission, but the end goal isn’t to extend her family. Reportedly, momager Kris Jenner has dangled a massive carrot in front of Kim Kardashian West’s face. If Kim can increase ratings of the family reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kris Jenner will make sure she gets a nice pay bump.

Reportedly, the challenge from Kris Jenner came at just the right time for Kim Kardashian West, and she’s determined to rise to the occasion. According to an insider, Kim Kardashian West was already planning to be more involved in this season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

“She has taken a backseat this past season while she was pregnant and now she is ready to kill it. Kim is going to create whatever it is that the public wants her to. She loves her power. More than anything or anyone.”

Kim Kardashian-West’s new enthusiasm for the reality show that made her and her sisters a household name couldn’t come at a better time. Kourtney Kardashian and her ex-boyfriend, Scott Disick, have kept things remarkably amicable since their July, 2015, split. Khloe Kardashian and her estranged husband, Lamar Odom, seem to be headed for another split thanks to his continued struggles with drug and alcohol addiction. The seemingly final separation of Kylie Jenner and her beau, Tyga, may provide some much-needed fireworks for this season, but based on the pace of the episodes currently airing, any excitement generated by the fiery demise of their relationship will peter out long before the season finale.

Ironically, the Kardashian-Jenner sisters may have already spoiled their most surefire way to high ratings. Rob Kardashian and his fiancée, Blac Chyna, have been media darlings since news of their relationship broke in January. The recent revelation that Blac Chyna is carrying Rob Kardashian’s baby has only increased their popularity. But previous issues between Rob Kardashian and his family, to say nothing of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters’ feud with Blac Chyna, has left the new couple reluctant to join the family flagship reality series full-time.

The Kardashian-Jenner sisters are masters at media manipulation, but now that their lives are finally falling into place, their main avenue of promotion may not survive. If Kim Kardashian West pregnancy scare really was a desperate attempt to get attention, expect more stunts from the reality star as she rallies to keep her reality show on the air.
