Could ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Lead To ‘Fall Of The Resistance?’ [SPOILERS]
If the rumors are true, the working title of Star Wars: Episode VIII has been leaked, and it could mean the Fall of the Resistance.

The latest Star Wars adventure was left on a significant cliffhanger at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with Rey holding Luke’s lightsaber out to him as she waited for his response. If the apparently leaked poster is true, this could mean things are taking a significant turn with Fall of the Resistance.
According to MovieWeb,Fall of the Resistance is the most plausible leaked working title yet, but there is no confirmation that this title is a go as yet. After all, MoviePilot reports that Star Wars: Episode VII initially had the working title of Episode VII: Foodles, so a working title of Fall of the Resistance for Star Wars: Episode VIII might not be too much of a stretch.
If Fall of the Resistance ultimately becomes an actual title for Star Wars: Episode VIII, it could signal a very dire, dark time for the characters we became familiar with in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. If Fall of the Resistance is the real title, what does that ultimately tell movie goers about the resistance as we saw it in Star Wars: The Force Awakens? If the Resistance does indeed fall, what does that ultimately mean for the universe as we last saw it? Is it ultimately going to mean that Fall of the Resistance is really going to happen?
iDigitalTimes reports that it is quite likely that Fall of the Resistance is quite likely a lie as a title. iDigitalTimes reports that an anonymous and now-deleted account said that, “Fall of the Resistance is not the real title, however it has similarities. The real title is The Fallen Knights. No ‘source’ from me, sorry. You’ll just have to take my word for it.”
Whether it is the Fall of the Resistance or The Fallen Knights, both titles signal a shift towards something quite a bit darker coming for Star Wars: Episode VIII. Given the pain on Luke’s face at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it is clear that the favorite Jedi knight of the Star Wars universe is struggling with something on more a deeply personal and spiritual level.

It should come as no surprise, in reality, that Fall of the Resistance has hit the rumor mill as the next working title for Star Wars: Episode VIII. However, there are arguments from both sides as to whether or not Fall of the Resistance is an actual leaked title for the next film in the Star Wars series. The film is hotly anticipated, to be sure, and between the Han Solo film and Star Wars: Rogue One, it’s clear that there are going to be more than enough Star Wars creations in the coming years that Star Wars fans will have plenty to look forward to.
However, with Fall of the Resistance being bandied about as the latest potential title for Star Wars: Episode VIII, plenty of Star Wars fans are eagerly speculating about what the new movie might involve beyond Luke Skywalker and Rey learning from each other and getting ready to take down Kylo Ren. The stars of The Force Awakens have been unanimous in saying that the new film is going to be much darker than the previous one, but will that mean Fall of the Resistance is imminent?
