Jay Z Surprises Fans At Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour

Brooklyn’s own Sean Carter, also known as Jigga, HOV, or Jay Z to the hip hop world, lit up Brooklyn’s Barclay Centers stage, joining platinum artists like Nas, Usher, and Puff Daddy, in honor of his “brother,” the Notorious B.I.G. Although Jay Z has been the target of several rumors these days following Beyonce’s Lemonade confessions, the Grammy Award-winning rapper didn’t let gossip stop him from making a “Public Service Announcement” at the Bad Boy Family Reunion tour. According to Rolling Stone, Puff Daddy told fans Carter traveled 5,000 miles from Beyonce’s Formation tour to sing his “favorite joint” at the sold out venue.

Most know Jay Z was not a member of the Bad Boy squad, but Puff made a touching speech welcoming and honoring him as extended family.

“Bad Boy’s celebrating 20 years of hits, but this is extended family. Whenever I get in trouble, this is the one I call. This is my strategist right here. This is my brother!”

Other powerful acts were also on deck for the celebration of Bad Boy’s 20 years of hits, including Mary J. Blige — who performed fan favorite “Can’t Knock the Hustle” with Jay Z. Fans were also surprised with performances by Carl Thomas, Busta Rhymes, Lil Kim, Faith, and several others.

The tour was originally set to be two Saturday nights in Brooklyn, but after the sold out crowd showed how much they miss the legends of Bad Boy, Entertainment Weekly reports Puff Daddy decided to make it into a national event. It is currently slated to run from August to October and include several members of the Bad Boy squad.

Jay Z Managing DJ Khaled, Getting Him in Formation

Jay Z will not be in attendance at future concert dates, but that’s because he will be more than busy for a while. After signing with Epic Records, DJ Khaled recently recruited Jay Z as his manager. This move may be the reason behind Khaled opening for Queen Bey’s Formation Tour. Whatever the reason, the DJ formerly known as the Arab Attack was excited to take the news to his huge list of social media followers.

“Fan luv, when I tell you that prayer is the so powerful, please believe me. I want to thank the incomparable icon Beyoncé for this tremendous opportunity of a lifetime. Your music is the soundtrack to so many people’s lives across the globe. Your legacy is a blueprint for the young generation to follow and strive to be. You are the true definition of a superstar. Thank you so much for inviting me on your stage. I promise you this! I’m gonna rip it down so legendary!!!!!! When I was a kid THEY told me no when I wanted to DJ and perform in the club! I will never stop fan luv. Bless up!!@wethebestmusic @rocnation@epicrecords.. #MAJOR– the album coming!!!! Fan luv IM see u everywhere!!! —————-“

The album Major Key is scheduled to be released very soon and will include Khaled’s infamous collaborations. Jay Z, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, and Drake are just a few of the entertainers that will accompany his sound but he’s also wanting the Queen herself to lend her voice.

“I want to make music with Beyoncé. I’m just getting closer and closer, but at the same time I’m scared to even ask her. I don’t know how to maneuver this. So what I’ve been doing is showing her how passionate I am on stage and ripping it down.”

Hopefully, Jay Z can also convince Beyonce of his passion and shut down rumors surrounding the couple’s marriage and alleged infidelity. But for now, we’ll settle for the 46-year-old’s help in keeping hip hop relevant.
