New ‘ARK: Survival Evolved’ Xbox One Servers For The Center Now Live [Update]

Still waiting for a chance to play The Center map in ARK: Survival Evolved for the Xbox One? Good news as patch 735.0 has now gone live along with a bevy of new servers.

There are approximately 160 new servers available for PVE, PVP, and Primitive gametypes for ARK: Survival Evolved‘s new map. Technical issues with deploying the new servers prevented Studio Wildcard from getting Hardcore and Extinction up. Those that live in the Oceanic region will be happy to note there are three PVP servers dedicated to The Center (Guide) available for you too.

Update: Studio Wildcard added new NA PVP servers Saturday night for The Center on Xbox One. The new server numbers are 807 through 826. Additionally, some low population servers for The Island were converted to The Center. The full list shared by the studio is as follows:

53-55, 362-364, 560-562, 203-205, 251, 304-307, 458-460, 347, 348, 349, 536, 537, 538, 225, 226, 227, 228, 436, 437, 438, 439, and 448. Additionally 731 to 733 and 736 to 738 have been converted from PVE to PVP.

The new servers for The Center have been desperately needed since the map launched in an update earlier this week. Only 60 servers went live and quickly filled up. Those attempting to play online on official servers have been staring at a server browser displaying “100/100” since then.

The Center servers can be picked out by simply searching for “Center” in the server browser and picking out the one that matches the style you want. You can find complete details on the different server offerings in the ARK server guide.

Aside from a long list of new servers, the 7.3 GB 735.0 update brings some other welcome changes to ARK: Survival Evolved on the Xbox One. The audio cutting in and out on The Center map Is now fixed along with transferring characters and items between the old The Island map and the new map for single-player and player hosted games.

Note there is a known issue with saving single-player games in ARK: Survival Evolved. It simply isn’t happening. Existing single-player saves have gone missing. Expect a fix in the 736.0 patch.

Update: Studio Wildcard posted news confirming The Center single player, non-dedicated, and player dedicated saved data on Xbox is no longer accessible.

The issue is the path to load single-player game saves has been broken, which will be fixed with the release of the 736.0 update. Unfortunately, all player dedicated server save data has been wiped and will be made in accessible.

“This is a disappointing set back for us and to all of you as well, and it really sucks and we’re very sorry that it happened. We will continue to work harder to prevent a situation like this occurring in the future.” Community Manager Jen wrote.

The dino difficulty and the spawn level and rate on The Center have been adjusted with the 735.0 update. The max level a dinosaur can spawn remains at 150 for the map (up from 120 on The Island), but the dinosaur spawns will now trend toward lower-level beasts than before, per a Twitter post from Studio Wildcard Lead Designer Jeremy Stieglitz. The new map is meant to be more difficult, but the number of dinosaurs spawning over level 100 was too much.

Additional dino spawn tweaks are included. Presumably this is to fix an issue with some of the spawn locations in the oceans of The Center where massive amounts of animals can appear. There’s no word on if this also fixes the surprising number Gigas that are also spawning.

The annoying Compys will also be slightly less annoying. These little buggers can quickly ruin the day for a new Survivor starting in ARK: Survival Evolved. This patch reduces Compy hit points and damage by 50 percent.

Here are the official patch notes for ARK: Survival Evolved update 735.0.

  • Fixed various TheCenter structure placement, teleport, collision issues, visual issues, dino difficulty curve, harvestable items fade-out, and dino spawns, & flyers now allowed in the large caves. Also fixed the stalling/hitching of Player-Hosted TheCenter servers.
  • Fixed audio clipping
  • You can now transfer Dinos/Items/Survivors from TheIsland to TheCenter and vice versa on Singleplayer and Player-Hosted games which allow Tribute Uploads/Downloads.
  • Added support for up to 200 additional Official servers! (many more TheCenter servers will be onlined with this patch, including Primitives, Hardcore, and Extinction)
  • Fixed general case where you could place structures within world geometry
  • Reduced Wild Compy HP and Damage by 50 percent
  • Fixed crash in Session List UI when Removing Bookmarks or Switching Server Filter Mode
  • Fixed Invite Friends in-game menu option
  • Fixed performance issue with distance field shadows

Interestingly, there have still not been any word from Studio Wildcard concerning the large number of official servers that now sit mostly empty. It costs money to leave these running with barely anyone on them, so it will be interesting to see how they are handled. This is especially true now there is a new map pulling player interest elsewhere and Primitive+ is currently coming this July.
