Miley Cyrus And Liam Hemsworth Enjoy Dinner Date At Nobu Amid Breakup Rumors — Is The Engagement Back On?

We were all shocked and heartbroken when news broke that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth had called off their engagement, but you can now rest easy, since a recent report by Hollywood Life just proved that their engagement is still very much in play.

Miley and Liam have recently been spotted enjoying a family dinner at Malibu sushi hot spot Nobu with the latter’s mom and sister on May 18. According to Hollywood Life’s source, Hemsworth and Cyrus are still very much in love with each other. In fact, they entered the restaurant holding hands, and they looked “really happy.”

“Yes Miley was there with the Hemsworth family. There was a table for six and lots of celebrating and toasting. Miley and Liam looked really happy,” the source said.

Not only is Miley still engaged with Liam, it appears that she’s still very close to his family. In that case, it’s very much possible that they’re making plans for the wedding.

They came in holding hands and seemed really affectionate with each other. Every one seemed like they were in a good mood just eating dinner and talking. Miley also spent quite a bit of time talking to Liam’s mom and sister-in-law,” the source added.

Hollywood Life’s exclusive debunks the reports made in Life & Style’s May 16 article, which claims that Liam cheated on Miley and then admitted it to her, urging them both to call off the engagement.

According to the report, Liam hooked up with another girl while he was vacationing in California and Cyrus was thousands of miles away in New York filming her new Woody Allen Amazon series. Hemsworth reportedly admitted to Cyrus that he had an affair, which eventually led to the break up.

“He realized that he’s not ready to settle down and that Miley really isn’t the one, so he recently dumped her, just days before the wedding,” according to the mag. “She’s heartbroken, but pissed off, too.”

Liam reportedly admitted to the cheating when he and Miley met up in Australia at the end of April.

“He and friends had gone surfing in Malibu and picked up some girls on the beach who were visiting from out of town,” the insider claimed. “The girls were really hot and Liam’s buddies invited them back up to their house for some drinks and fun. That’s when things got wild.”

While their recent dinner date at Nobu disproves the breakup rumors, it’s important to note that the reason why Miley and Liam broke up in 2013 was due to the latter’s infidelity. After two years of being separated, the pair reunited at the end of 2015. The pair were also spotted celebrating the New Year’s in Australia. Before long, Cyrus was spotted wearing the Neil Lane diamond engagement ring again, the same ring Hemsworth gave her when he proposed to her in May 2012.

“Miley is beyond happy to be engaged to Liam again,” a source close to Cyrus told PEOPLE. “It might seem sudden, but they have been very close for the past few months. They just wanted to keep their relationship out of the spotlight while they figured things out,” the source said. “Liam never liked how exposed his life was with Miley.”

The Australian actor and the “Wrecking Ball” singer made a voluntary effort to keep their relationship private. But in an interview with ET Online, Liam admitted that they were indeed back together.

“Everyone’s happy. I’m happy. Yeah… I just find it’s easier to not talk about my personal life because usually I say the wrong thing, so it ends up just complicating things more. So, I feel like it’s better not to talk about it,” Liam said.
