‘Days Of Our Lives’ Casting Inmate: Jennifer Jailed, Ciara Commits Crime, Or Gabi’s Past Possible Storylines? [Theory]

Days of Our Lives has a few casting notices out, but one is particularly interesting. It seems the NBC soap opera is searching for a female actress to play a tough inmate. With no other information available, all DOOL fans can do is speculate.

Warning: Although this is a theory, this post may include possible Days of Our Lives spoilers.

According to Soap Opera Digest, Days of Our Lives has issued a casting call. The notice states that the part is for Sheila, a tough inmate of any ethnicity from the ages of 30 to 55. Filming will begin in June, which means fans should see the role come to television screens sometime in late fall 2016.

It is difficult to say with certainty which Days of Our Lives characters will be directly linked to Sheila. The NBC soap opera tapes scenes months in advance, and sometimes the storylines can change quickly. However, it is always fun to speculate and think of new theories. So, let’s begin!

I have three possible theories on who “Sheila” will be linked to in Days of Our Lives. Remember, these are based on current storylines as of May 19, 2016.

Will Jennifer Go To Jail On Days Of Our Lives?

The first Days of Our Lives theory is regarding Jennifer Devereaux, played by actress Melissa Reeves. The DOOL character is currently battling a prescription medication addiction. She seems able to function for the most part right now. However, viewers have seen her make some mistakes due to her dependence on the drug.

For example, Jennifer and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughn) ended up sleeping together. As a result, Eric showed up in court disheveled, and Jennifer didn’t look so great, either. Also, fans did see one scene a few weeks ago when Jennifer forgot to send an important email and yelled at a co-worker or boss on the phone. As more people are noticing small changes in Jennifer, it is causing problems in her relationships. Recently, she wanted to babysit Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail’s (Kate Mansi) baby, but the youngest DiMera would not allow it. He explained that it was due to her addiction.

According to TV Insider, Melissa Reeves said there will be an entire episode featuring Jennifer and her deceased husband, Jack. The topic will be all about her dependence on pain pills. Maybe this episode will help Jennifer beat her habit, and she won’t have anything to do with the female inmate coming to Days Of Our Lives. That is not known yet, but the actress teased things will get worse before they get better.

“Really bad,” Reeves told TV Insider regarding how bad Jennifer’s addiction will get. “When she finally loses it and everything comes crashing down, they do a whole episode with my character falling apart. The entire episode. This drug story has been very well written. It’s sweet because they brought back Matt Ashford [Jack], I guess as a ghost.”

Ciara Brady To Commit A Crime?

My second theory on the female inmate storyline is Ciara Brady. Ever since she was raped by her stepbrother, Chase Jennings (Jonathon McClendon), the DOOL character has gotten out of control. It seems she goes back and forth between spiraling downward and trying to stay stable. There were some drinking scenes on Days of Our Lives, Ciara didn’t want to finish high school, and now she has moved out of Hope Brady’s (Kristian Alfonso) home. She is now a nanny for Chad and Abigail’s baby, but there are rumors that the two may end up having an affair.

If Ciara doesn’t get the help she needs to process being attacked, especially with the return of Aiden Jennings to remind her of Chase, could she spin completely out of control? Could it result in her committing a crime and is this where Sheila comes in?

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Daniel Cosgrove’s return as Aiden to Days of Our Lives has created problems for Hope. He is Chase’s father and is an attorney. Could he try to get Chase out of jail and if so, how will this affect Ciara?

An Inmate From Gabi’s Time In Prison To Visit Salem?

The third theory I have has to do with Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus). Before the actress returned to Days of Our Lives, she was in prison for killing Nick. Could Sheila be someone Gabi knew in prison? If so, why would this woman be coming to Salem? Since this female inmate is described as being tough, does she have a score to settle with Gabi? Will she blackmail or bribe the model and young mother? Could Gabi find herself in danger on Days of Our Lives?

Recently, it was reported by TV Source Magazine that Banus was cast in ABC’s Mistresses. So far, it is unknown if the actress will leave Days of Our Lives or work on both shows.
