Will There Be An ‘Arrow’ And ‘Supergirl’ Crossover? This Is What Stephen Amell Thinks

Will there ever be a crossover episode between Arrow and Supergirl? While promoting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, Stephen Amell was asked the question and has now given an answer.

The actor who plays Oliver Queen in Arrow has said that he believes there will be a crossover eventually. There is no reason for their not to be now, and it seems that the fans want to see it happen. It would not be the first time Oliver has ended up in another show. He has helped both The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow get started.

Why is it so important now? What makes it possible for Arrow to crossover with Supergirl? Last week, CBS confirmed that the show about Clark Kent’s cousin would definitely move to the CW. There are a few reasons for this, but one of those is that the show is not getting the ratings CBS would like to see. There is still a fanbase for it, and it does make sense for it to be with its sister comic shows, Arrow and The Flash.

There has also already been one crossover. In Season 1 Episode 18 of Supergirl, Barry Allen made an appearance. The Flash crossed into the different world that Supergirl is set in due to his speed. This episode was widely praised and accepted by the fans, but it did make it clear that Supergirl is definitely not in the same DC universe as Arrow and The Flash.

While it all worked well, it does bring up the question of how Arrow could cross over into the show. As Comicbook.com points out, jumping between Earths is a thing that The Flash does and has worked into the show very well. The Season 2 finale of Barry Allen’s show featured the Black Siren, who was Earth-2’s version of the Black Canary.

It doesn’t completely make sense for Oliver Queen to find a way to crossover. The only option would be for Supergirl to make an appearance in Arrow. She should be able to move into a different universe due to her own powers.

This crossover idea does have time to materialize. Supergirl is now finished, and Arrow wraps up its fourth season next Wednesday. The writers have all summer to work out a way to fix the two shows together.

It is certainly possible for them to crossover. Of course, it will only happen if the storyline is plausible. It took time to work out how to get Barry Allen into Supergirl due to the different universes, so it will take a lot more time to work it out for Oliver Queen. The two shows being on the same network now does not guarantee a crossover will happen.

“I think that it’s highly likely that, if you have four DC superhero properties on one network, that that is an opportunity that might not ever exist again, and certainly hasn’t ever existed in the history of television.”

Why does Amell think that the crossover will happen? He says that four shows on the network within the comic book franchise has never happened in CW history, and it may not happen in the future. Nobody knows the fate of the four shows past next season, because they have all been picked up for one more season each. With this historical moment and the same showrunners for all, it makes sense that something will happen to make Supergirl crossover with the older shows on the network.

He also knows that fans love to see crossovers, and they do want to see this one happen. As soon as The Flash and Supergirl proved to be successful, fans wanted to know when it would be Arrow’s turn.

All that will come soon. For now, Arrow is gearing up for its Season 4 finale on Wednesday night.
