Blake Shelton’s mom recently talked to Adam Levine, and she told The Voice judge that she’s getting pretty desperate for grandchildren. Blake’s girlfriend does have babies on the brain, but Gwen Stefani isn’t picking out potential names for her fourth child just yet. Right now, Gwen is trying to help Adam and his Victoria’s Secret model wife, Behati Prinsloo, choose the perfect moniker for their daughter.
On May 17, The Voice shared a video titled “Nissan Presents: A Day in the Life of Blake” on YouTube. In the digital exclusive, Adam Levine gives a lucky group of fans “the ultimate Blake Shelton experience.” The Voice coach acts as a tour guide to the trio of Blake fans, and they’re shocked when they find out that Adam will be acting as their chauffeur for the day. While Adam is giving them an inside look at Blake Shelton’s “daily life in Los Angeles,” Blake Shelton’s mom calls. “Mama Shelton” tells Adam that he and Blake should “try to be nicer to each other” on The Voice, and she asks Adam to pass a very important message along to Blake.
“I need you to tell him to please hurry, and try to have some babies,” Mama Shelton says in the interview.
Blake Shelton is currently dating Gwen Stefani, who is 46-years-old. Perhaps Mama Shelton is worried that her son’s girlfriend won’t be able to have another baby if she and Blake don’t start trying for one ASAP.
Unfortunately for Blake’s mother, rumors about Gwen being pregnant continue to be debunked. On May 18, Gossip Cop shot down a report that Gwen is pregnant with twins, citing a rep for Gwen Stefani who said that any and all rumors about the singer expecting her fourth child are “untrue.”
However, this doesn’t mean that Gwen and Blake don’t want babies, and Gwen has been thinking about baby names lately. During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Gwen Stefani revealed that Adam Levine has been texting her his favorite baby names to see what she thinks about them. Gwen does have a knack for coming up with creative monikers, as evidenced by the names she and ex-husband Gavin Rossdale chose for their three sons: Kingston James McGregor, Zuma Nesta Rock, and Apollo Bowie Flynn.
“Adam keeps texting me, ‘What about this name? What about this name?'” Gwen told Entertainment Tonight. “And then just all that kind of stuff. It’s just really fun. It’s fun because I’ve had so many kids. I’ll be like, ‘And then this happens. And then this happens. And then wait, this is what’s going to happen.’ It’s fun.”
Unfortunately for Mama Shelton and everyone else who wants a Shefani baby, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton might be too busy making music to start a family together. During a recent interview with EXTRA, Gwen said that she would love to make an entire album with Blake. However, Blake Shelton’s mother doesn’t think that her son is the best songwriter. In fact, she told Adam Levine that Blake doesn’t write any of his songs.
“You know he hasn’t written any songs,” Mama Shelton said when Adam asked her which song written by Blake is her favorite.
Blake Shelton might disagree with what his mama says. Blake recently told Access Hollywood that he started writing “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” because he wanted to impress Gwen with his songwriting abilities.
“I started this song, and I sent it to her about halfway finished,” Blake said. “And she had it about two days, and she sent back the song finished.”

The couple decided to turn “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” into a duet, and Blake Shelton included the song on his upcoming album, If I’m Honest. The deeply personal record drops on May 20, and Shefani fans can also look forward to watching Blake and Gwen perform their duet live during the Billboard Awards on May 22 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
