There have been headlines lately suggesting that Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid are headed for a breakup, but instead there only seems to be evidence that they are happily in love and an extremely unique, eccentric couple. Although there are many Hollywood couples that are unique, there is one particular community that appreciates Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid being together because they “lack icons.”
However, five years in the future, will Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik be adding crime-fighting to their futures? Daily Mail reports that Gigi Hadid mentioned recently on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills that she got sidetracked by modeling from studying criminal psychology.
Although it might be fun imagining Zayn Malik and Gigi in scenarios like they are in the television show Criminal Minds, Gigi Hadid told her mom, Yolanda Hadid, that she did not necessarily want to practice criminal psychology, but just wanted to take the classes.
Right now, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik seem to be spending a lot of time together, but this could soon change. For example, if Zayn Malik goes on a world tour sometime in the near future, as he suggested on Twitter on May 15, it is likely Gigi Hadid will not go with him, because her modeling career is blasting off.
Adding to a long list of gigs over the past year including BMW, Sports Illustrated and lots of runways, Gigi Hadid also recently announced that she was the “face” of Penshoppe, according to Rappler.
While this couple is definitely at the height of their careers and appear to be happy, Celebrity Dirty Laundry seems to imply they might be headed for some sort of “breakup” due to alleged texts Zayn Malik is sending his ex, Perrie Edwards.
On the contrary, Gigi Hadid has been showing the world that she loves Zayn Malik in a couple of unique ways. For example, Teen Vogue points out that Gigi Hadid has a “custom ‘Zayn’ necklace designed by Lola James.”
In another instance of public fashion displays of affection, Gigi Hadid has a Zayn Malik-themed t-shirt that says “LOL, ur not Zayn Malik,” according to US Magazine. Zayn Malik also retweeted a picture of Gigi Hadid wearing the t-shirt and wrote “thas ma girl” in the caption.
There are also other ways that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are proving that they are an eccentric couple. For instance, as previously reported by The Inquisitr, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are often described as catering to punk fashion as a couple.
This was likely to happen since Gigi Hadid is a fashion model, and she is naturally experimental with her style. For instance, Vogue reports that Gigi Hadid’s experimentation with corsets has started a trend.
Adding to the idea that they love to dress up as a couple, at The Met Gala around the first of May, Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid paid special attention to the “Manus X Machina” costume theme of the event, according to Hollywood Life. In fact, Gigi Hadid wore a custom-made dress she designed herself put together by Tommy Hilfiger.
Adding to their man/machine theme for May, Zayn Malik also produced a CGI homage to the movie Tron with his video with Director X for his song “Like I Would,” according to Billboard.
There are also endless examples that Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid are a fun couple that do not feel like they need to overdo the eccentric angle.
For instance, Vanity Fair recently highlighted that making pizza art was one of Gigi Hadid’s hobbies because “I just like laughing with my friends and doing simple stuff, because everything else is so hectic.”
Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid also do a lot of things as a couple that are rather normal. In particular, the most recent example is Zayn Malik teaching Gigi Hadid how to play blackjack for her birthday, according to Elite Daily.
In the end, while Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid stand out as a couple in many ways, an opinion piece by Urmee Khan in The Guardian lends to the idea that their unique relationship might mean a lot to Muslims living in places like the U.K. because “Muslim teenagers lack icons.”
About Zayn Malik, they say he “speaks to an ‘aspirational’ generation of British Muslim kids who want to please their parents and carve out their own identity” — and Gigi Hadid (also of Muslim descent) being his girlfriend is positive because, in the opinion of writer Urmee Khan, Gigi is “the most famous millennial cultural icon other than [Muslim descent] motivational speaker DJ Khaled.”
