‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Finale Shocking Plot Twists

Grey’s Anatomy has only one episode left in Season 12, and it sure seems that showrunner Shonda Rhimes has prepared huge twists and lots of drama, according to Variety. During the episode on Thursday, May 12, the show’s viewers received a big dose of a romantic relationship between Alex (played by Justin Chambers) and Jo (played by Camilla Luddington).

But the Grey’s Anatomy Thursday episode has brought more questions than answers. The episode featured one scene between Alex and Jo that has long been anticipated by the ABC series. Luddington earlier teased in her interview with Variety that the episode would finally bring all the answers.

“I think it’s time that you’ll see Jo finally answering the questions and then getting more clarity into where their relationship stands.”

But Thursday’s episode didn’t revolve only around Alex and Jo, as Owen (played by Kevin McKidd) and Amelia (played by Caterina Scorsone) had a scene that brought changes to their relationship. Another couple on Grey’s Anatomy – Callie (played by Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (played by Jessica Capshaw) – have issues with their custody arrangement.

A week earlier, Arizona received full custody of their daughter, which surprised Luddington. In fact, the 32-year-old Grey’s Anatomy actress admitted she had thought Callie was the one who would be awarded full custody of their daughter.

“I thought maybe that lawyer was doing a better job at jabbing at Arizona, so I was completely shocked that it was Arizona.”

Luddington also revealed that the entire Grey’s Anatomy cast often gets shocked by some moments written by the show’s writers. The actress, who plays Jo in the series, said the table reads are always fun because the actors of the show don’t know things.

“From April dealing with a new pregnancy to when Ben gave the patient a C-section, those moments are so shocking to us and everything always seems high risk.”

Luddington said Grey’s Anatomy actors even joke to the show’s writers sometimes if they could have “a beach episode,” in which they would sip on piña coladas and just tan. The actress also complained that writers put them through the wringer every season.

And even though the entire Grey’s Anatomy cast ends each season exhausted, they are still very excited about filming for the next one. And that’s what keeps the show’s actors and actresses so thrilled to be part of the show created by Rhimes.

And Luddington warned that next week’s Grey’s Anatomy finale will bring major plot twists. The actress hinted that the upcoming plot twists will affect each and every character of the show. In fact, every character will have something “dramatic” going on, the actress revealed, adding that there are moments when you get “completely blindsided.”

Luddington also encouraged Grey’s Anatomy viewers to stock up on bottles of alcohol and snacks before the finale episode, which will air on May 19, at 8 p.m. on ABC.

May has been a good month for Jessica Capshaw, who plays Arizona on Grey’s Anatomy. First, the 39-year-old actress gave birth to her fourth child.

And then her character on the ABC show Grey’s Anatomy was awarded full custody of her daughter, according to USA Today.

Capshaw and her husband Christopher Gavigan welcomed daughter Josephine Kate Gavigan on May 2. The “Kate” part of the name was inspired by the actress’ mom Kate, who is married to director Steven Spielberg.

Christopher and the Grey’s Anatomy actress married in 2004 and they now have four children: Josephine Kate, Luke Hudson, Eve Augusta, and Poppy James. In her Instagram post, in which she welcomed her new daughter, Capshaw confessed her heart was so full of love that it was about to burst.
