Zayn Malik Gains 1 Million Followers After 24 Hour Twitter Break
Well, that didn’t take long. Zayn Malik broke millions of teenage hearts yesterday when he announced that he was quitting Twitter. Thankfully for the Directioneers, he restored sanity in the Twitterverse today when he made his comeback.
And the Directioneers were definitely happy that Malik came back to Twitter. According to Contact Music, the teen sensation gained over 1 million followers in just a couple of hours after returning to Twitter.
Malik quit Twitter yesterday, leaving his 3 million followers with an unfillafible social void after Perez Hilton tweeted that the teen sensation was cheating on his girlfriend. The tweet led to some backlash against Hilton. It also led to some hateful comments against Malik.
The teen star said that he quit the social networking site because he was sick of all the hate on the internet.
Malik wrote:
“The reason i don’t tweet as much as i use to, is because I’m sick of all the useless opinions and hate that i get daily goodbye twitter :)”
Twenty four hours later, however, Malik decided to make his triumphant return to the social networking site.
Malik writes:
“Sorry, I was getting some abuse on twitter but I dont want to let my fans down. So I am back!! ? x”
The news was re-tweeted close to 100,000 times as Directioneers rejoiced that their leader had returned.
