Beyonce ‘Lemonade’: Tina Knowles Discusses Jay Z Cheating Claims — What Really Happened

Beyonce caused quite the controversy last month after debuting her latest album, Lemonade, in the form a televised movie on HBO.

Having addressed cheating rumors and allegations by publicly outing her husband, Jay Z, for stepping out on their marriage, fans joked they were certain that Beyonce would file for divorce by the time the HBO special concluded.

And while Beyonce and Jay have remained rather quiet regarding anything related to Lemonade and the infamous “Becky with the good hair” reference, Tina Knowles has made the conscious decision to come forward and shed some light on what the album is trying to convey.

Tina was actually said to have been a huge inspiration behind the album following the news that Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles, had impregnated several women while still married to the singer’s mother. The scandal weighed so hard on Tina’s heart, she eventually found it in herself to call it quits and file for divorce.

Yet, when asked by ABC 13 Houston, why her daughter has decided to make her marital problems so public, Knowles stressed, “It could be about anyone’s marriage. I think that everybody, at one time or another, has been betrayed and lied to and it’s about the pain.”

Despite there having been cheating allegations regarding Mathew Knowles in the past, Tina was said to have forgiven her husband at the time — all until two women came forward claiming Mathew was the father of both of their children.

Tina mentions that when things begin to crumble in a relationship, especially when it’s over the fact that their partner has cheated, that’s when someone’s strength really comes into play. Forgiveness, trust, and loyalty are some of the things one has to consider when going through something to the extent of being cheated on, she explains.

“It’s about the healing process — and it’s about…how do you get past that and move on? People make it all about the cheating and betrayal, and yes, that’s a part of it because that’s something you have to heal from. If you really listen to the poetry, it is one of hope and redemption and hopefully, that can be healing for people.”

Beyonce and Jay Z have been hit with cheating allegations for years. In fact, back in 2014, it was believed that Solange’s infamous elevator outburst was solely down to Rachel Roy engaging in flirtatious behavior with the rapper at a Met Gala after party.

Fans are convinced that the “Becky with the good hair” reference is an indirect statement aimed at Rachel, who has often branded herself as someone with good hair on Instagram.

Beyonce seems to hint that the duo had an affair during her marriage with the rapper, and while it weighed hard on her relationship with the music mogul, they overcame their barriers and managed to work out their differences with one another.

All the divorce talk and cheating allegations have done Beyonce a lot of good as her “Formation” tour has already grossed more than $100 million in ticket sales, which is impressive considering the fact that the 34-year-old has only performed at a handful of shows so far.

The tour has since been extended until October.
