Alanis Morissette Could Join ‘American Idol’

Is Alanis Morissette bound for American Idol?

The hit Fox show has been contacting pretty much everyone who has ever worked in the music industry in an attempt to fill the final seat at the judge’s table. Nick Jonas, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and even Kanye West have talked to Fox about joining the show. Nicki Minaj reportedly signed on to American Idol earlier this week, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

The latest name being thrown around the room at Fox is Alanis Morissette.

Alanis became a huge star in the late 90s with the release of her album Jagged Little Pill. Her star has faded since then, but Alanis did release an album this year and is hoping to make a bit of a comeback. American Idol would definitely give her some exposure.

Alanis told CNN that she was open to the idea because she loves to mentor people.

Morissette said:

“Yes, I have been in conversations about it, and that’s the degree to which I can share the info right now… I live to mentor, so my heart is much more open to the idea of that than even 10 years ago when I, perhaps, wasn’t in a position to be able to offer much advice, solicited or otherwise… [B]ut I love watching people and just getting really curious about what they want and what they need and what their goals are, and then I can support them. I would do it formally, for sure.”

Do you think Alanis Morissette would make a good judge on American Idol?
