Joe Biden Strikes Again: Calls Reform Critics ‘Squealing Pigs’

Minneapolis, MN – Joe Biden hit the campaign trail for the first time since his “put y’all back in chains” gaffe, appearing in Minneapolis yesterday. Not one to rest on his laurels, the VP provided his opponents with yet another soundbyte in an eccentric speech in which he compared critics of Wall Street reform to “squealing pigs.”

“Over the objections – where they sound like squealing pigs – over the objections of Romney and all of his allies, we passed some of the toughest Wall Street regulations in history, turning Wall Street back into the allocator of capital it always has been and no longer a casino… And they want to repeal it,” Biden said, describing the opposition to tough Obama Administration Wall Street reform laws like the Dodd-Frank law, which was approved despite strong objections from Republicans, reports the Huffington Post.

“Folks, the middle class has started to come back. They have been ravaged,” he said, stressing that progress is being made in an otherwise sluggish economy.

Of course, the Romney campaign wasted no time firing back. Ryan Williams, a spokesman for the Romney campaign, responded with this statement:

“Vice President Biden’s claim that the middle class is ‘coming back’ couldn’t be more out of touch with the reality. Whether it’s high unemployment, falling incomes, soaring tuition costs, or rising prices, middle-class families are struggling in the worst economic recovery America has ever had. Mitt Romney’s Plan for a Stronger Middle Class will deliver 12 million new jobs, grow our economy, and give the middle class hope once again.”

It’s not even all that bad that Biden would call his critics “squealing pigs.” What’s bad is the way he said it. It just came bumbling out of his mouth to take a stroll and, when Biden realized he couldn’t take it back, he attempted to deftly ignore it. No, Joe, it was caught on camera. Our advice? Be more deliberate about the things you say or just stay home. Obama’s still got a bit more time, he can always go with Hillary.

Biden’s next stop on the campaign trail is reportedly the Republican National Convention, and he’s going with his dukes up, according to Buzzfeed. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is welcoming Biden’s visit with open arms. “I’m a big believer in: if they punch us, we put on the brass knuckles and punch back,” he said.

We can’t wait to see what Biden has to say.
