Hayden Panettiere Checks Back Into Rehab For Postpartum Depression As ‘Nashville’ Is Canceled

Hayden Panettiere has checked back into rehab to deal with postpartum depression. The actress went to rehab back in October of 2015, and now she is headed back once again. She seemed to be doing well, but obviously, Hayden still feels like she needs to work on herself. Yahoo! shared that the news came out today from Hayden herself. She went to her Twitter account to announce the news to her fans.

This news comes as a bit of a shock since Hayden seemed to be doing well and was playing the part of Juliette Barnes on Nashville. She had been playing a character who was also dealing with her own postpartum depression. This could not have been easy on Hayden, but her acting skills are amazing, and you could never tell if she was having a difficult time with the part. Hayden actually shared about heading to rehab on Twitter today.

“The postpartum depression I have been experiencing has impacted every aspect of my life. Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!”

A source revealed that Hayden is in Utah for her treatment. Ever since Hayden had her daughter, Kaya, she has been very honest about what is going on with her. Her daughter was born in 2014 and Panettiere has been suffering from postpartum depression ever since then. Last October, Hayden’s rep shared that she was going in voluntarily to get help. Hayden had gone on Live With Kelly and Michael in September before she headed off to rehab. At that time, she shared about relating to people who deal with postpartum depression.

“I can very much relate. It’s something a lot of women experience. When [you’re told] about postpartum depression you think it’s ‘I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child.’ I’ve never, ever had those feelings. Some women do. But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.”

Fans of Hayden Panettiere love her on the show Nashville, but her news about heading to rehab again came out at the same time that the show was actually canceled. TV Line shared the news today that after four seasons, they have decided to cancel this show. Season 5 had already planned for new showrunners, but instead the show is just totally over. The fans are in an uproar over this news, but Nashville has been on the bubble for years, so it isn’t too surprising.

Nashville will have the season finale on May 25, and this will now also serve as the series finale of the show. This means that they will not be able to tie up all of the storylines the way that they would if they had known it was a series finale. When shows end this way, you usually end up getting a lot of cliffhangers and fans don’t get the closure that they were expecting from the show. That is going to upset a lot of people as they beg for one more season or a big movie to tie up the loose ends.

Are you shocked to hear that Nashville will be ending after Season 4? Do you find it hard to believe that Hayden Panettiere is back in rehab again? Sound off in the comments section below, and don’t miss new episodes of Nashville on Wednesdays on ABC. There are just two episodes left before the big series finale.
