Selena Gomez Destroys Fan’s ‘Marry Justin Bieber’ Sign, But Confesses Problems Detaching From Jelena [Video]
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have been through years of “they’re together” and “they’ve split” romantic relationship headlines. Although recent signs that the two had rekindled their romance left some “Jelena” fans hopeful (she “liked” his throwback photo showing the two kissing passionately and even showed up at one of his concerts), Selena has now made it clear that she has no plans to tie the knot with Bieber in the near future.
To the sound of “Jelena” fans’ hearts breaking everywhere, Gomez destroyed any hope that wedding bells would ring soon by trashing a sign that a fan held reading “Marry Justin Please,” reported E News.
“SELENA CRUMPLED UP MY SISTERS SIGN IM CRYING,” tweeted a fan.
“She didn’t mention anything after. I got my paper back though. It wasn’t meant to be mean,” the fan later revealed to E! News. “I love Selena and Justin, and love them together as well. It was the second to the last song that it happened. She put on a great show though.”

As for the potential that Bieber and Gomez will become an item again, she revealed that Justin made it difficult for her trust again. However, she did admit she’s been daring to date again.
“I don’t trust anybody. So dating can only be fun if I know I’m going to have fun.”
In addition to Justin, Selena has been seen with NYU graduate Samuel Krost and One Direction singer Niall Horan.
But “Jelena” fans haven’t let go of their dreams that the two will reconcile. When Bieber posted that throwback photo showing him kissing Gomez, it quickly rocketed to the top of the most-liked photos on Instagram.

Moreover, Justin had planned an “extravagant” date for the two in March, but then canceled it. And the reason remains a mystery, a source told E News.
“I don’t know why [Bieber] didn’t go through with it, and I also don’t know if he ever even told Selena about his plan. I do know he is really obviously trying to date her again.”

However, Gomez says that she suffered not only heartbreak but humiliation as a result of Justin, according to the Mirror. And she also confessed that it isn’t easy distancing and detaching herself from Bieber.
Making it even more challenging? The constant questions that she gets about “Jelena.” Their on-and-off relationship lasted from 2010 through 2015, and has even sporadically occurred again this year. But Selena points out that having reporters focus on Bieber rather than projects that she wants to promote has become increasingly frustrating.
“I would try to promote something that I loved, and the entire interview would be about my personal life,” added Gomez.
Consequently, she added, she would experience a sense of defeat and embarrassment. But that did not (and has not) changed her determination to learn how to distance herself from her relationship with Bieber, as well as how to show that determination to the world.
“I would always make sure to put that smile on my face because I wasn’t going to let them get to me,” she added.
