Jessica Capshaw Welcomes Baby Number 4 Into The World
Actress Jessica Capshaw just became a mom for the fourth time. The Grey’s Anatomy star gave birth to her third daughter and made the big announcement on Monday, May 9.
Capshaw and her husband, Christopher Gavigan, welcomed their third girl on May 2, and they named her Josephine Kate Gavigan. Capshaw posted an image of the newborn on her Instagram as a way to announce her new daughter to the world.
The adorable baby girl is dressed in white clothing, complete with a knitted cap. Capshaw included the caption “Josephine Kate Gavigan May 2, 2016 I am endlessly grateful for her safe arrival and my heart is so full of love that it threatens to burst…”
Baby Josephine’s photo already has over 73,000 Instagram likes, while thousands of Capshaw’s followers congratulated the actress on her new baby.
Capshaw and Gavigan first made the announcement back in December, 2015, that they were expecting their fourth child. Capshaw had her entire family pose in front of a Christmas tree lot and wrote in the caption that she was pregnant.
Jessica Capshaw is not shy when it comes to sharing photos of her kids or taking photos that display her baby bump. There are some actors or celebrities that prefer to keep their pregnancies under wraps or shield their kids from social media or the paparazzi camera lens
Another actress, Eva Mendes, reportedly gave birth two weeks ago, but Mendes has managed to stay away from the spotlight for the second time throughout her second pregnancy. Mendes kept her first pregnancy a secret too and has never posted photos of her two daughters that she has with actor Ryan Gosling.
Another celebrity, Chrissy Teigen, gave birth to her first baby, Luna Simone Stephens, on April 14. Unlike Mendes, Teigen actively engages on different social media accounts where she shares, and sometimes over-shares, details and photos of her pregnancy and motherhood journey.
Jessica Capshaw is pretty active on both her Twitter and Instagram accounts, although she doesn’t go too crazy with sharing every detail of her family’s lives. Capshaw’s husband, Christopher Gavigan, also has social media accounts and he posts photos of their kids on his Instagram account.
Capshaw and Gavigan have been married since May of 2004, and are also parents to son Luke, 8, and two daughters named Eve, 5, and Poppy, 3. Capshaw is the daughter of actress Kate Capshaw and businessman Robert Capshaw, and is a step-daughter to famed director Steven Spielberg.
Capshaw’s character was originally supposed to be in only three episodes, but Shonda Rhimes liked Capshaw’s presence on the show, so she extended her contract and made her the new love interest for Sara Ramirez’s character, Callie Torres.
Capshaw’s other popular role was in another ABC drama, The Practice. Capshaw played lawyer Jamie Stringer during seasons seven and eight in the series.
Jessica Capshaw’s husband, Christopher Gavigan, is one of the co-founders for The Honest Company, a consumer goods company that creates eco-friendly and non-toxic care products. Actress Jessica Alba is also one of the four co-founders, along with CEO Brian Lee and Sean Kane.
The Honest Company has made headlines recently over when lawsuits were filed over the fact that Honest products were not purely organic and that their labeling is deceptive, according to a Fortune article posted in February. The company also had complaints about their sunscreen not working properly, and many customers suffered from sunburns.
Capshaw still advocates green living and defends the Honest Company from certain criticism, particularly from Gwneth Paltrow’s Goop newsletter that talked about the company’s recent controversies. Capshaw posted an image featuring Goop products and made her own opinions known in the caption.
