Bethesda Removes Prey 2 From Website

The future of Prey 2, Human Head Studios’ follow-up to the 2006 first-person shooter, hasn’t exactly looked good. There was talk earlier on in the year that Prey 2 had been canceled, but publisher Bethesda insisted otherwise.

At the time, Bethesda said that, while Prey 2 had not been canceled, the company did decide to delay it indefinitely. It seemed, at least for awhile, that there was some hope that the game would eventually be released, but Prey 2‘s future was once again put into question recently when Bethesda removed the title from its website under the “Games” section.

Prey 2‘s removal from the website does appear to be pretty ominous, but a representative with Bethesda offered IGN a less bleak explanation for the game’s removal from the website.

“Since we had already announced it wasn’t coming out this year and we don’t have anything new to say on the game at this time, we simply didn’t think it’d be appropriate to include it on the new site launch. We chose instead to focus on the upcoming titles we are talking about,” the representative told IGN.

Unfortunately, Bethesda isn’t willing to say anything more about Prey 2 at the moment. Speaking to Eurogamer, another representative had this to say: “We announced the delay in April, and until we’re ready to talk about the game more, the focus on the site is on our upcoming titles.”

No release window for Prey 2 has been announced, but it’s expected that we will start hearing more as we near closer to 2013.
