Kanye West Credited With Saving Lamar Odom Through Music According To Kim Kardashian

On the most recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian made a pretty bold statement and Khloé Kardashian cosigned on it. She claimed that it was her husband, Kanye West, who should be credited with saving Lamar Odom’s life after he nearly died of a drug overdose in a Nevada brothel last year. During the Sunday night episode, the Kardashian sisters claimed that Lamar tells people that Kanye saved his life.

On Mother’s Day, Keeping Up With The Kardashians aired an episode that talked all about Lamar Odom’s recovery. During the segment, Khloé said of her husband’s recovery, “Lamar wasn’t able to walk, he had no facial recognition.” Then, Khloé began the conversation about Kanye West’s influence on Odom and his miraculous recovery.

“There was a moment when Lamar couldn’t really express himself and he couldn’t really talk, but he could hear what we were saying to him,” Kim said. “Kanye really felt we can cure him through music like we can get him to talk. He would go to the hospital and he would rap and sing, and I think Lamar started to get his function back and started to talk once he started to listen to a lot of music.” Rolling Stone reported on the KUWTK episode that brought Lamar Odom back into the fold.

Kim Kardashian claimed during the most recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that it was Kanye West and his music that helped him the most. “Kanye’s music helped me so much. That’s when I realized I could start thinking again and things were coming back to me and I could start articulating it,” she claimed that Lamar Odom said.

That’s when Khloé Kardashian chimed in and said, “He’s always like that. He’s like, ‘Kanye saved me.'”

This was Lamar Odom’s first appearance on Keeping Up With The Kardashians since his near-fatal drug overdose late last year. Lamar’s recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. Khloé even said that when they arrived in Nevada to be there for Odom in his time of need, they were told that he only had about four hours to live. Lamar certainly has come a long way from the brink of death.

There have also been reports that Lamar may start playing basketball again; although, he won’t be making his post-recovery debut in the NBA. Instead, Odom has been offered a spot in the famous Los Angeles Drew League, where many NBA players spend their summers keeping in shape according to TMZ. Just the fact that Lamar Odom could play in the Drew League is proof that he has recovered well beyond what anyone thought was possible.

There has been some criticism of Lamar Odom’s appearance on Keeping Up With The Kardashians on Sunday. Many fans have noted that they are upset that he has been featured on the hit E! network show to talk about his near-death experience and the long recovery afterward. While the Kardashians originally agreed that no film or photos of Lamar in the hospital would be used to promote their show or their brand, there are reports that Lamar himself wanted to use the imagery on-air.

Kanye West seems to be getting a lot of credit for Lamar Odom’s miraculous recovery. Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloé both seem to think it was Kanye’s music that played a huge role in helping Lamar to get better.
