NFL Rumors: Peyton Manning Working With Miami Dolphins, Tutoring Ryan Tannehill

NFL rumors are swirling around Peyton Manning. Many were already curious as to what the future hall of fame quarterback was going to do now that he has walked away from professional football. Some felt that he would be a broadcaster, while others believed that he would take on the role of lead executive for one of the many franchises in the National Football League. According to Sporting News, Manning paid a visit to the Miami Dolphins recently, and he tutored Ryan Tannehill.

Last season was a pretty rough one for Ryan Tannehill. Joe Philbin had been fired as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins after 52 games. Dan Campbell was promoted to interim head coach, but he failed to win the job on a permanent basis and is now with the New Orleans Saints. The instability of the head coaching position affected Tannehill quite a bit, as he appeared to have regressed on the field.

Ryan Tannehill is hoping to have a bounce-back season now that Adam Gase has been hired as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. Barring a disastrous season, Gase should provide the Dolphins with some stability. He’s considered one of the brightest offensive minds in the NFL. Not only did he do wonders for the Denver Broncos offense, he also helped turn things around for Jay Cutler during his brief stint with the Chicago Bears.

The man running the offense on the field when Adam Gase was commanding the unit was none other than Peyton Manning. The two of them enjoyed working together. Manning especially appreciates Gase more after working with Gary Kubiak, the current head coach of the Denver Broncos. Kubiak didn’t allow as much freedom to Manning as Gase did. Kubiak and Manning did manage to win a Super Bowl, however.

There’s some debate as to when Peyton Manning actually met with Ryan Tannehill and the Miami Dolphins. However, the belief is that it was during the period of time before NFL players were allowed to meet with the coaching staff. Tannehill specifically mentioned that he was given a head start from Manning because he was able to ask questions about the system that Adam Gase utilizes on offense. Although their interaction was brief, Tannehill should benefit greatly from his time with Manning.

Publicly, Peyton Manning is telling the world that he simply visited the Miami Dolphins to give some pointers to Ryan Tannehill, but the belief is that he was testing the waters of being an executive. Manning was leaning towards being a broadcaster before the legendary John Madden suggested that he would be much better off as the lead executive in the National Football League. Madden felt that the role would be much more suitable for the competitiveness within Manning.

Peyton Manning has plenty of connections in the NFL, so he’ll have a lot of options if he wanted to pursue a career as an executive. He’s already connected to the Miami Dolphins because of his relationship with Adam Gase. Manning also can return to the Indianapolis Colts, where he was the face of the franchise for several years. Peyton can also become the understudy to John Elway with the Denver Broncos.

Considering his passion for the game of football, there’s a lot of people that would love to see Peyton Manning back with the NFL. He still has much left to give to the sport. Manning is one of those rare players who can get fans from other teams to root for him. People rooted for the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl once their teams were eliminated.
