Tori Spelling Celebrates Marriage And Motherhood Ahead Of 10th Anniversary Vow Renewal

Tori Spelling is getting ready to exchange vows with husband Dean McDermott for the third time. The True Tori star celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with her husband by posting PDA-filled pics of the two of them on Instagram. Spelling captioned one photo by touting the couple’s “new beginnings” and in another, she called McDermott the love of her life and wrote that she “can’t wait to marry” him “all over again.”

Tori and Dean married or the first time in an intimate ceremony on the beach in Fiji in 2006, but the newlyweds had to deal with some backlash from McDermott’s ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace. At the time, Dean told People that Tori was his soul mate and he had never felt such a desire to get married, despite the fact that he had been married to Eustace for 12 years and shared a 7-year-old son with her.

“I’ve never had as much of a desire to get married and make a woman my wife as I’ve had with her. The feeling is overwhelming. We’re soul mates.”

McDermott was still married to Eustace when he began his relationship with Spelling and the former Beverly Hills 90210 star was married to actor-writer Charlie Shanian. But the couple weathered that storm (Eustace even appeared on the couple’s reality show to give Tori marital advice), and they renewed their vows in front of family and friends (and Oxygen’s cameras) several years later on an episode of their reality show Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.

But just ahead of their 10th anniversary, Dean got down on one knee once again — this time in Paris with their four kids in tow and the Eiffel Tower in the background.

McDermott, whose 2013 cheating scandal temporarily put the brakes on their wedded bliss, proposed to Spelling with an antique ring last month as their four kids, Liam, 9, Stella, 7, Hattie, 4, and Finn, 3, looked on. Tori told E! News the proposal was impeccably planned by her romantic husband.

“Dean planned it with the owners of Cafe de L’homme overlooking the Eiffel Tower and all of Paris to have the terrace all reserved and private for us and told me we were going to get coffee and hot chocolates for the kids and then surprised me when he got down on one knee and presented me with an antique engagement ring,” Tori said. “The four kids and I were so surprised and so happy. It’s been a rough few years and this was a perfect family moment for unity and love!”

Tori also teased that while they hadn’t picked a date to renew their vows, May is a special month for the couple.

“No date for the wedding is set yet,” Spelling said. “But our 10-year anniversary will take place in May.”

Fans may recall that McDermott first proposed to his future bride on Christmas Eve in 2005 with a diamond and sapphire ring while they were on a horse-drawn carriage ride. In 2006, he popped the question for a second time the following Christmas with an antique Neil Lane platinum ring. But Dean’s 2013 affair with a Canadian woman spelled trouble for Spelling’s marriage. The couple ultimately worked through their marital troubles, and some of their therapy sessions even played out on True Tori.

During a recent appearance on the Today show, Tori said things are going great in her marriage.

“Things are really great right now,” Spelling said. “We had to deconstruct our relationship. We really did….We had to start at ground zero and build it back up. It is stronger than ever.”

Tori Spelling also took time to write a letter to her four kids for Time magazine and explaining when she and Dean decided to go against the Hollywood norm and produce a large family.

“My husband and I are so smitten with each other that we wanted to create better combinations of ourselves, teach them that love wins, and let them go out and rule the world,” she wrote.
