Nick Jonas Gets Real About Kate Hudson Relationship

Nick Jonas and Kate Hudson have been at the center of tabloid reports thanks to their alleged on-again-off-again relationship and huge age gap. Jonas, 23, and Hudson, 37, have been spotted partying at clubs and taking short vacations together. Thanks to the sightings, there’s been whispers about their relationship in Hollywood for a little over a year.

While both Jonas and Hudson have been coy when asked about the nature of their relationship, the solo artist finally opened up somewhat about Kate Hudson. Jonas, who is a frequent guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, sat down with the talk show host and discussion led to his current relationship status. Although he’s single, Nick Jonas opened up to Ellen about Kate Hudson after DeGeneres jokingly pried about the actress, as she tends to do when he comes on the show.

“So how’s Kate Hudson doing? She’s good?” she asked.

Jonas replied with a huge grin, “She’s great. We had a group dinner the night before the Met Gala. Lots of people and she was there and I was there. It was a group.”

DeGeneres wasn’t buying that he and Hudson were just out with a group of friends.

It’s not a huge surprise that DeGeneres brought up Kate Hudson. After weeks of going without a public sighting, the two were recently snapped together in New York. According to a report, they were snapped coming out of the dinner date that Jonas was dishing to Ellen about. That’s not all — according to Entertainment Tonight, the two were spotted later at the same hotel. That said, Nick insists that he’s single.

The last we’ve heard about this non-couple, they were at a club hot spot in New York. Back in February of this year, Jonas alluded that they had outgrown each other in an interview with Complex.

“Umm. You know, it’s interesting. You’re allowed to ask me whatever the f**k you want and I’ll answer it, or not. Kate’s incredible. We had an unbelievable connection as two humans who just admire things about each other, and see something in each other that’s beautiful.”

Jonas continued, “Out of my best effort to respect her and her privacy, I’m not going to say if we had sex or not. But we did have a beautiful connection. Even now I have so much admiration and respect. She’s amazing.”

That said, the youngest Jonas brother admitted that he does understand the fascination people have with his relationship with Kate Hudson — assuming because they’re both famous, beautiful, and then there’s that 13-year age gap to consider.

“It doesn’t shock me or surprise me. I don’t get pissed off about it. I’ve come to accept it. With that in particular. It’s a bizarre matchup to a lot of people.”

The only thing Kate Hudson had to say publicly about the relationship was a bit cagey. The star was on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live! when she was asked by a caller about the nature of her relationship with Nick Jonas. While Cohen was all about the pairing and told the actress just that, Hudson was private about their status.

“I don’t like addressing any kind of gossip. My agent has been my mystery man maybe 25 times. You can’t hug someone or talk to someone without it ending on being a thing.”

When they were spotted at the hotspot Up & Down back in October of 2015, a source said of the couple, “Kate and Nick have been hanging out casually over the past two or three months. Nick loves how fun and easygoing Kate is. Kate is just enjoying herself now and not taking anything too seriously.”
