Rihanna and Travis Scott may have sparked dating rumors after revealing the “Antidote” rapper’s position as an opening act for the U.S. portion of Rihanna’s “Anti World Tour,” but has tension between the duo caused romance rumors to fizzle out? According to fans in attendance at Rihanna’s show in San Jose, Calif., earlier this week, it appears that there may be some underlying tension between Rihanna and Travis after the songstress appeared to throw a little shade at Scott for being a no-show at the concert.
On May 6, fans in attendance at Rihanna’s San Jose concert took to social media to express their anger and disappointment after learning that Travis Scott would not be able to make his performance that evening.
One fan took to Twitter to express their confusion over Scott’s abrupt absence, asking, “When Travis Scott ditches opening for Rihanna….what?” Another fan added, “Travis scott isn’t performing at the rihanna concert tonight! wtf!? I was looking forward to Antidote!!”
When Travis Scott doesn’t play at Rihanna and this thing said start was 7:30 and only a crappy dj was on for 15 mins and it’s 9pm????

In addition, other fans pointed out their frustration over having missed Travis Scott as the opening act for the show, given the fact that the San Jose tour date had already been rescheduled once before, with one fan writing, “1st the date was changed on us and now Travis Scott doesn’t show! @rihanna please turn the night around!! @SAP @Ticketmaster #ANTIWorldTour.”
So Rihanna reschedules her concert 3 months later… And then Travis Scott can’t perform now?!

Similarly, Travis’ absence was noted in several reviews of Rihanna’s “Anti World Tour” stop in San Jose, with one writer from the Mercury News explaining, “Travis Scott, the rising rap star who has been romantically linked to Rihanna, was scheduled to open the show but never made it to the stage.”
Travis Scott later addressed his absence at the concert on Twitter, telling fans that an “accident” caused him to be late and therefore miss his scheduled opening performance.
“SORRY SAN JOSE FOR MISSING UR ENERGY TONITE. CRAZIEST ACCIDENT HAPPEN WHICH GOT US IN LATE,” Travis began on Twitter before adding, “SORRY T WILL MAKE IT UP :).”
While Scott neglected to comment further on his absence, Rihanna addressed fans’ frustrations over Travis’ missed performance during the intro to her set, referring to the situation as “unforeseen circumstances.”
“Welcome to the ‘Anti World Tour,'” Rihanna began in her speech to concertgoers, as captured in a video by a fan on Instagram. “I know we had a few…unforeseen circumstances showing up this afternoon. I won’t let it f*** y’alls vibe up, I’mma do my best to make it up to y’all,” Rihanna explained before being met with applause from concertgoers.
The news comes on the heels of reports suggesting that Travis Scott isn’t too pleased with Rihanna’s close relationship with Drake, especially after the release of the duo’s “Work” collaboration in February.
Rumors of an alleged feud between Travis Scott and Drake began in late February after Travis Scott took to Snapchat to reportedly diss the Toronto rapper while referencing lyrics from Rihanna and Drake’s “Work” collaboration.
“6God gotta werk werk MORE *laughing-crying emoji*,” Travis Scott began on Snapchat, as captured by a fan on Twitter. He continued, “F*** 6GOD. Bout to pull a Chris brown on this n****. She wants the flame not no emotional n****!!”
While neither Travis nor Drake have addressed the ongoing feud rumors, some fans also pointed out that the “One Dance” rapper has appeared as a surprise guest performer on several of Rihanna’s “Anti World Tour” dates thus far, including her headline-making show at The Forum in Los Angeles on May 4, which has since only further fueled the feud rumors between Scott and Drake.
What do you think of Rihanna’s comments regarding Travis Scott’s missed San Jose performance?
