Portia de Rossi On Her Perfect Marriage To Ellen, And Why They Watch ‘Scandal’ Separately

Portia de Rossi, the actress currently on the hit TV series Scandal and the wife of world-famous talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, is still as in love with her wife now as she was when they first started dating.

According to E! Online, Portia de Rossi has been married for more than seven years, but their marriage is going strong and the pair is as in love now as they have ever been.

Portia de Rossi spoke on how much she loves being with Ellen DeGeneres, saying that apart from being a married couple, they are also good friends and talk to each other about everything. According to de Rossi, honesty is one of the most important tenets of a successful marriage.

“We never ever, ever lie to each other, like, not even the tiniest lies.”

Portia de Rossi went on to say that her wife is her best friend and echoing the sentiments of Ellen fans around the world, said that her wife is “just awesome.”

“She’s the only person I want to hang out with. Like, she is my best friend and I just want to be with her all the time. She’s just so awesome! Who wouldn’t want to be with Ellen all the time?”

The couple first fell hard for each other back in 2004. When same-sex marriage was legalized in the state of California, Portia and Ellen were finally able to turn their relationship into a legally recognized marriage. E! Online reported on an instance when de Rossi was on the Howard Stern radio show and told him that she and Ellen don’t even think about fighting or ever hit the point of almost breaking up. She set the record straight that even though it may sound boring, she’s madly in love and doesn’t envisage that the situation will change anytime soon.

Recently, the pair found themselves in a somewhat unlikely double date scenario with new couple Harry Styles and Kendall Jenner in the Caribbean.

Portia spoke on how the couple was when they bumped into each other, saying that she enjoyed getting to know Kendall Jenner.

“We just talked and hung out for a little bit, and they’re lovely people and we just had fun. They’re really great. I love Harry especially, and I’m just getting to know Kendall, but you know, they’re great.”

Somewhat unusually, Portia and Ellen enjoy spending some of their downtime watching the same show that Portia stars in, Scandal. According to another E! Online source, the couple bond over watching Scandal, but they prefer to watch it separately.

They still have a blast talking about it, but watching it together is a different story. Portia de Rossi watches the show as a critic while Ellen is more interested in the storylines and digging for any secrets and spoilers that her wife might be willing to share.

Portia de Rossi spoke on how watching the show has been for the two of them.

“She’s a big fan of the show, so she wants to see it with everybody else. Recently, she’s watched it separately from me, which is also really fun. It’s nice when she can watch it as a fan, and not me watching it as a critical actor.”

As much as Portia is perfect in the eyes of Ellen, others seem to have a problem with the Scandal actresses’ body shape. According to Mic, people have been body shaming Portia for being too thin.

Just like Ariana Grande being called “a stick” and Selena Gomez being advised to work out, Portia de Rossi has been singled out for being “too thin.” Her body shape has been a delicate topic for the Scandal star in the past, and it seems a shame that it has resurfaced again, just when everything else in de Rossi’s life is going so wonderfully.
