CBS Makes ‘Survivor’ Cast Announcement [Video]

CBS made their 25th Survivor cast announcement this morning.

This year’s game, which is set in the Philippines, will be played by beauty pageant contestants, actresses, and baseball players.

The cast this year will include Lisa Whelchel, who played Blair Warner on The Facts of Life, Major League Baseball player Jeff Kent, and three former Survivor contestants.

Whelchel said:

“I pursued it. I had a friend of mine make a little iPhone video and I asked friends to retweet it to get me on the show. I just had another one of my brilliant ideas.”

Kent added:

“I just don’t want to embarrass myself. I have a reputation in baseball but I played and I played the game well and I played the game with integrity and respect.”

The Survivor cast will also include a business student, a former Miss Delaware winner, a mechanic, a lesbian cosmetologist, an investment banker, a “redneck guy,” a sex therapist, and a seminary student. The Huffington Post reports that the contestants range from 20 to 49 years old.
