The Vampire Diaries Season 7 finale is titled “Gods & Monsters.” TVD fans are curious to find out what will happen with Bonnie, Damon, Stefan, Caroline, Alaric, and Enzo. The CW network released the synopsis, which teases some characters may be in serious danger. Also, the extended promo is available, which hints mystery and danger will be lurking around every corner.
The back half of Season 7 has been about Bonnie Bennett. Everyone has been working to save the TVD character from death. However, nobody was as desperate as Damon Salvatore. Unfortunately, Damon made a deal with Rayna Cruz to save Bonnie’s life. The Vampire Diaries character is alive because of that deal, but it also turned her into a huntress. She is now obsessed with murdering all vampires, including her best friends.
It was clear in the last episode of The Vampire Diaries that there is still a part of Bonnie that exists. The vampire huntress has not completely taken over, at least not yet. She has come close to killing Damon, but memories and emotions had the TVD character hesitating. Just as Bonnie was about to kill Damon, Matt Donovan pumped her full of vervain. The plan was to separate Bonnie from the rest until they figured out what to do. Unfortunately, the obsession to kill is just too strong. In the car, Bonnie woke up, wrangled Matt out of the driver’s seat, and took over the wheel.

With the events that took place during the last episode of The Vampire Diaries, what can be expected in the Season 7 finale? According to Carter Matt, the synopsis for “Gods & Monsters” has Damon, Caroline, and Enzo taking desperate measures. Everything else they have tried has failed, so the trio step inside the Armory. There is something or someone inside the vault that can save Bonnie. The extended promo clip shows a few scenes inside the vault and it definitely looks creepy.
Outside the vault, Caroline has the huntress mark and goes on the run with Stefan. The former couple had a heated discussion about their past. The conversation also hinted that Caroline doesn’t love Alaric, which many “Steroline” fans have speculated. However, she isn’t ready to forgive Stefan, either. Right now, she doesn’t want to address her feelings; Caroline just wants to survive.
As for their situation in The Vampire Diaries, Stefan brings up a possible solution. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Gemini twins may play a role saving Bonnie, Damon, Caroline, and the other TVD characters.

The press release for The Vampire Diaries Season 7 finale also teases that Bonnie and Enzo will go back to the cabin. Enzo’s plan is to distract Bonnie, but things don’t go as expected. Damon will have to step up and “make the ultimate sacrifice” to save everyone. However, what exactly is this sacrifice and does this mean there will be a cliffhanger?
TV Guide revealed additional clues on what to expect in “Gods & Monsters.” Executive producer Julie Plec stated that there will be closure for many of the TVD characters. However, two main characters will have a big shift, which will be the theme of The Vampire Diaries Season 8. Paul Wesley also had something to say, teasing that Season 8 will be really twisted, dark, and fun.
What do you think is going to happen in The Vampire Diaries Season 7 finale? Will Damon, Stefan, Caroline and Enzo be able to stop what is happening to Bonnie? Will any fan-favorite characters die in “Gods & Monsters?” Or will there be a cliffhanger, forcing TVD fans to wait before finding out?
The CW network will air the Season 7 finale of The Vampire Diaries on May 13.
