Ben Higgins And Lauren Bushnell Break-Up: ‘Bachelor’ Couple May Be Calling Off The Wedding, Report Claims
Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are reportedly breaking up, with reports that the Bachelor couple has called off their wedding after a few “miserable” weeks of dating.
The couple fell in love in front of millions of viewers this winter on The Bachelor, but there have been reports of trouble dating back even before the finale in which Ben proposed to Lauren. This season was unprecedented, the first time that a Bachelor contestant has ever shared “I love yous” with more than one contestant.
That reportedly created some tension as Ben’s lingering feelings for runner-up Jojo Fletcher got in the way of his relationship with Lauren Bushnell. Sources claimed that Ben was wavering on which woman he would propose to, and even on decision day, was reportedly going back and forth. He ultimately proposed to Lauren, but sources close to the show said he still had strong feelings for Jojo.
That tension has reportedly led Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell to the verge of breaking up, with Celeb Dirty Laundry reporting that Lauren hates life in Colorado with Ben.
“According to Life & Style Magazine, Lauren Bushnell is miserable living in Denver, Colorado with Bachelor Ben – and she has called off the wedding. The season 20 winner reportedly gave Ben an ultimatum – move to Los Angeles with her, or kiss their future goodbye. Since getting down on one knee, Ben has begun to doubt his feelings for Bushnell, so it’s unlikely that he will relocate just to save their relationship.”
Life & Style Magazine quoted a source who said that Lauren is threatening to call off the wedding unless Ben helps get her out of Colorado. Ben has reportedly encouraged Lauren to look for a job and start laying some roots in Colorado, but she’s determined to leave.
“Lauren has been complaining to friends about how unhappy she is and how she has no purpose in Denver. She can’t see herself living there permanently so Lauren has called off the wedding until Ben agrees to move to LA!”
It’s not clear how much truth there is to the rumor that Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are breaking up. The couple has been surrounded by plenty of rumors since their relationship began blooming on television, and often times they have been off the mark.
That could be the case now, as there are simultaneous reports claiming that Ben and Lauren are very close to getting married. Sources say they want to exchange vows this year, and the couple has even talking about it publicly. The Hollywood Gossip reported that Higgins and Bushnell sat down for an interview at Indiana University, and Lauren revealed that they’re not planning to waste any time walking down the aisle.
“We’ve been engaged now for a lot longer than when the show ended, so I’m ready to at least start planning… Maybe by the end of this year.”
The couple also appears on all counts to be very happy. Lauren has shared plenty of happy pictures of the couple together, including a shot of the two revealing their engagement to family members. She and Ben have also made a number of appearances including the iHeartCountry Festival in Austin.
For all the rumors of a break-up, there have also been rumblings that Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell could actually be headed for a televised wedding. The Bachelor franchise has been known to push some of its more popular couples into getting married on live television, and it has now been two years since the franchise was able to have a TV wedding.
