Christina Aguilera Dishes On Daughter, Summer Rain, Ahead Of ‘The Voice’ Exit

Christina Aguilera opened up about her second child, daughter Summer Rain, in a new interview.

As the singer prepares to leave her role as coach on The Voice, Christina Aguilera spoke of her youngest child, whom she welcomed in August of 2014 with fiancé Matthew Rutler.

“I like putting pink Converse and stuff [on her], but I totally have Max hand-me-downs that I give to her because there’s nothing cuter,” Christina Aguilera told Entertainment Tonight‘s Sophie Schillaci during Monday’s taping of The Voice, via a May 3 report. “She’s got this cute blonde hair, big blue eyes and she’s very girly, but then to dress her up in boy gear is so cute. She’s a tough girl!”

Prior to welcoming Summer Rain, Christina Aguilera was married to Jordan Bratman, and during their marriage, the former couple welcomed son Max, now 8. And just like Max, Christina Aguilera’s daughter is not only dressing like a boy, but also acting like one — likely due to Max’s influence.

“She’s climbing everything. Climbing the walls… she wants to be just like her parkouring brother. I’m going to have a heart attack!” Christina Aguilera joked.

Christina Aguilera has two children and a soon-to-be husband, and in addition to her busy personal life, she’s even busier professionally. Not only is Christina Aguilera currently filming and promoting the 10th season of The Voice, she’s also in the midst of a new project with Spike TV.

Later this year, as The Hollywood Reporter revealed in March, Christina Aguilera will launch a new series on Spike TV titled Tracks, which follows teams of two as they attempt to guess the names of songs by listening to individual tracks. Currently, the series is listed as a half-hour special but the network is reportedly in talks with production to turn the special into a full-time series.

Christina Aguilera is a busy mom and as fans have surely noticed, she does it all while looking flawless, but admittedly, getting all dolled up isn’t always her favorite part of her day. Instead, Christina Aguilera prefers to be comfortable.

“Getting all dressed up… thank God for hair and makeup people. They help you bring alive this sleeping character within yourself,” Christina Aguilera said.

That said, playing dress up is often quite fun.

“I love dress-up – you can tell from my video work, tours, circus experiments and everything from my past,” the singer explained. “I love the essence of theatrics and dressing up, which you can see in my performance with my team from last week. I love having fun like that and [to] not take fashion so seriously.”

In a separate interview this week, Christina Aguilera spoke of her role on The Voice.

“I think in any profession when you have the chance to give back and help shape the career of someone just starting you should,” Christina Aguilera explained to Marie Claire magazine, according to a report by Contact Music on May 4. “We all have had mentors in our lives, that one person who helped you turn a corner or make a breakthrough in your craft and we each should be that for others.”

Christina Aguilera has been with The Voice on and off since its start, but during Season 11, she won’t be seen. Instead, NBC has opted for a pair of new coaches, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys, who will join returning coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton later this year.
