Selena Gomez And Justin Bieber Update: Met Gala Plans Revealed And A Revival Tour Surprise?
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were supposed to spend time together during her recent trip to New York City for Monday night’s Met Gala — at least according to a recent report.
Earlier this week, Selena Gomez and several other celebrities attended one of fashion’s biggest nights, but surprisingly, Bieber, who was in the Big Apple for an upcoming show, was not in attendance.
That said, Selena Gomez and Bieber reportedly made plans prior to the event to spend time together afterward.

“Justin was really looking forward to spending time with [Selena Gomez] in New York,” a source told Hollywood Life on May 5. “They had communicated via text the day of the Met Gala and he was under the impression that they would be seeing each other at the Up & Down after-party.”
A few of Selena Gomez’s friends, including Taylor Swift and Kendall Jenner, were spotted at after-parties around New York City, but on Instagram, Selena Gomez revealed she had called it an early night. Instead of partying at a nightclub, she enjoyed a quiet dinner with three of her friends.
Meanwhile, Bieber was left feeling disappointed that he and his ex-girlfriend weren’t able to spend time together.
“He was really excited to see [Selena Gomez] and impress her with his sharp new look, and she ended up being a complete no show,” the source continued. “Her explanation was she simply changed her mind.”
However, as the source also revealed, Hailey Baldwin may have had something to do with it, as she attended a Met Gala after-party as well.
“Justin realized it was obviously because of Hailey [Baldwin] being at the same party, but he has reassured [Selena Gomez] countless times that he’s not in a relationship with anyone. Justin claims he went to the party with some guy friends, not Hailey,” the source stated.
As fans of the on-and-off couple will recall, Bieber was linked to Baldwin earlier this year after traveling to Anguilla with her to celebrate the holidays with his family. The pair even shared a number of affectionate photos together with fans online before calling it quits a short time after their vacation came to an end.
As for Selena Gomez and Bieber, their last outing together was over a month ago when she attended one of his Los Angeles concerts after exchanging a couple of “likes” on Instagram.
In March, Bieber shocked fans when he posted a throwback photo of himself and Selena Gomez kissing in a pool, which he captioned, “Feels.” Then, further shocking fans, Selena Gomez liked the photo and added a comment that said, “Perfect.” Days after that, Bieber liked a throwback photo shared by Selena Gomez, which featured the singer sitting at a piano in a bikini.

As Selena Gomez’s relationship drama with Bieber reportedly continues, she’s preparing for the start of her Revival Tour, which kicks off tonight, May 6, in Las Vegas, and according to another report, Bieber has a surprise up his sleeve.
“Justin is planning on doing something special for [Selena Gomez]’s opening night. It will be a surprise, but will most likely involve something like sending tons of her favorite flowers to her dressing room, and maybe sending something funny like an inside joke between them,” the insider revealed to Hollywood Life on May 6. “He wants her to know that if he’s not there in person, that he is there in spirit.”
