Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Several Others To Cameo In ‘Sharknado 4’

Corey Taylor of Slipknot is no stranger to fame for doing something crazy. For decades now he’s been putting on a mask and joining several bandmates in jumpsuits to sing out his angst. There was a time when he took the mask off to perform music, but it didn’t turn out so well for him. Stone Sour was short lived, and he also performed with Apocalyptica, Soulfly, and the ill-fated Pantera sister band, Damageplan.

Now the Slipknot front-man is hitting the screen, though not in a lead role. The insanity comes in when you realize it’s the fourth film in the ridiculous horror-comedy series Sharknado. The announcement of the film came quite timely only months after the latest Star Wars film hit, as the official title spoofs George Lucas’ space creation, Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.

When the original Sharknado hit TV screens, the very premise let us know it wasn’t going to take itself seriously. Even reviewers were aware that it was aiming for the premise of “so bad it’s good.” Now Tara Reid and Ian Ziering are set to return in the next chapter, where the synopsis claims that “sharknados” will strike in unexpected places five years after the phenomenon ravaged the East Coast.

Expect a collection of cameos this time, including Corey Taylor of Slipknot. Many of them are minor characters, and it’s unclear which of them will get eaten by airborn sea predators. Yes, that phrase makes next to no sense, but that’s what Sharknado is usually about. It’s a ridiculous concept made for movie fans who want a good laugh at an apocalyptic idea.

Corey Taylor will be making a cameo as a hotel security guard, and in an interview with Loudwire, he revealed he won’t be a shark snack.

Another cameo will be Dr. Drew Pinski of Loveline fame, playing a pastor. Sadly, Adam Carolla won’t be appearing in church with him to complete the fan service. David Faustino from Married with Children will be another actor made famous as a teenager, playing a Las Vegas gambler.

If the “sharknados” will be hitting Las Vegas, you know all bets are off. Vegas is a desert city with barely any natural bodies of water nearby.

Cynthia Bailey (The Real Housewives Of Atlanta), Robert Herjavec (Shark Tank), Kym Johnson (Dancing With The Stars), Carrie Keagan, T’Keyah Crystal Keymah (That’s So Raven), Gena Lee Nolin (Sheena), and Alexandra Paul (Baywatch) will be playing rocket scientists and astrophysicists. Benjy Bronk of The Howard Stern Show will play a morning show host, Duane Chapman from Dog The Bounty Hunter will play a chainsaw dealer, and Stacey Dash from Clueless will cameo as the mayor of Chicago. Also appearing are Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, Lori Greiner from Shark Tank, MMA fighter Frank Mir, and Patti Stanger of Millionaire Matchmaker.

Unlike Corey Taylor, some musicians will be appearing as themselves, such as Vince Neil of Motley Crue, and Wayne Newton.

Considering how the title and poster art for Sharknado: The 4th Awakens is spoofing Star Wars, it’s surprising that there don’t seem to be any Force Awakens actors making cameos. It might get an extra chuckle if Daisy Ridley or John Boyega appeared as vacationers.
