‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ian Buchanan Returns — Is Duke Lavery Alive Or Dead? Plus Heather Webber, Lucy, Bobbie, And Spencer Return To Port Charles
General Hospital is determined to have a great May sweeps, especially after announcing not only will Duke Lavery return to Port Charles for a brief stint, but Lucy, Heather Webber, Bobbie, and Spencer will all come back in the next few weeks. General Hospital viewers couldn’t help but get excited as they anticipate how Duke will make his comeback to the ABC soap opera.
The official General Hospital spoilers aren’t revealing much about Duke’s return. ABC has been tight-lipped about his mysterious return. In fact, Duke was the last person the fans expected to come back to the show. General Hospital writers found a way to incorporate Ian Buchanan in the May sweeps storylines, and the fans cannot wait to see what happens next.
ABC Soaps In Depth reported that Ian will return as Duke on May 11. Apparently, his appearance is a brief stint, but he will appear again later in the month. If he only briefly appears on the show, it seems like he may appear in a vision or dream. Since ABC hasn’t revealed any detailed spoilers about his return, there’s no way of knowing his exact storyline.
It seems much more likely that General Hospital writers decided to bring Duke back as a way to give Anna closure to his unexpected death. Anna has been holding onto his memory and is determined to avenge his death. If Anna is able to come to terms with Duke’s death after a visit from his ghost or through a vision, would it be enough for her to move on with her life? According to Soap Opera Digest, Duke and Anna’s upcoming material is juicy and emotionally charged.
Ian Buchanan’s character Duke was gunned down in May 2015. Ever since his departure, fans have begged General Hospital for a way to bring him back.

General Hospital spoilers tease that Duke isn’t the only person returning on May 11. Apparently, Heather Webber will return to stir up more drama. Will Heather reach out to her son, Franco, or possibly her ex, Scotty Baldwin? No official spoilers have been released just yet. One thing is for sure: When Heather shows up in Port Charles, drama has a way of following her.
On May 17, General Hospital spoilers reveal that Lucy Coe will appear for the Nurses’ Ball. As it turns out, Lucy will not just appear for the Nurses’ Ball, but will have a small storyline that will last a few weeks. Lucy hasn’t been seen on the show for almost a year. It’s a rare treat that not only will she return for the Nurses’ Ball, but she will spend some time in Port Charles before and after the gala. Apparently, Lucy’s portrayer, Lynn Herring, revealed that she came to an agreement with General Hospital, and she will be returning in the next few months.

General Hospital casting news announced that Spencer and Bobbie will return in the next few weeks, too. Bobbie has been off the show for a few months, however, she will return sometime in May. Someone will be missing from the Nurses Ball, though, as Spencer won’t be able to make it. Apparently, there was some type of scheduling conflict for the young actor, but he will return on June 1.
