Chris Evans Told To ‘Man Up’ By Robert Downey Jr.: ‘He’s Such A Nervous Nelly’

Chris Evans is prepared to play Captain America in many more Marvel installments, according to Uproxx. The 34-year-old actor revealed in his interview with Collider that he’s down to play Captain America for years to come.

There is no secret that Captain America has become one of the most beloved Marvel characters for comic book fans, and Chris Evans played a rather crucial role in it. Several years ago, Evans said he would abandon Captain’s shield after his contract consisting of six films is over, but it appears that the actor has changed his mind.

Promoting Captain America: Civil War, which opens in theaters May 6, Chris Evans said he would want to stick with the role for more Marvel installments. The actor explained that in the very beginning – when Marvel Studios launched the filming process of Captain America: The First Avenger – it was very “terrifying,” but now he is just “almost scared.”

“I’m scared to walk away. I’m scared to not have one of these coming. For the past six, there’s always been ‘next year, we start on that one,’ and it’s been wonderful.”

Chris Evans also noted that it’s “funny” how fast time has moved, adding that all Captain America films have been very good. The actor also went on to explain that when you make good movies, you don’t want to stop making them.

It’s no surprise that Chris Evans changed his mind about his contract with Marvel, as the actor didn’t know the franchise would become so successful. In fact, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is still named as one of the best Marvel movies ever created. And it looks like early reviews of movie critics for Captain America: Civil War paint a bright future for the latest Marvel installment as well.

Promoting their upcoming Marvel movie, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. made a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, according to The Times of India. In Captain America: Civil War, these two guys will present the highly-anticipated epic superhero battle.

Captain America: Civil War premiered in Los Angeles nearly a month before the official release, which says a lot about the confidence of Marvel Studios in this film. And if Marvel fans think Chris Evans is all tough and strong in real life, they are wrong!

Downey Jr. revealed that Chris Evans gets nervous before premieres, calling him “a nervous nelly,” and added that he personally loves both Evans and Captain America.

“Before the premiere, he’s all nervous. We’re supposed to drive in the Audis. He’s like ‘Bro, I don’t know, should you go first, or should I go first?’ I was like ‘Man up, we’ve got to go to this premiere together!'”

However, it could be just one of the methods Downey Jr. uses to pick a fight with Chris Evans because the two are going to face each other off in Captain America: Civil War, and Marvel promises that it will be a huge and epic battle.

The main question for Marvel fans right now is to decide whether they root for Team Captain America or Team Iron Man. And even though they didn’t have to fall into only one camp in previous installments, this time it’s time to decide whether they root for Chris Evans or Downey Jr.

In the upcoming superhero film, Chris Evans and Downey Jr.’s characters, former allies, are fighting over the idea to start gathering superheroes to make them follow the government’s orders. In the comic books, Evans’ character says such efforts would endanger personal freedoms while Downey Jr.’s character thinks the measures are needed to prevent massive disasters.
