Prince’s ‘Son’ To Inherit $300M Estate? Man Seeking DNA Test Claims His Mother Was Involved With Iconic Singer

The war over Prince’s estate may be taking an unexpected turn if the man who claims to be his “love child” is confirmed to be a legitimate heir to his $300 million estate. Although it was previously reported that Prince only had one biological son, Boy Gregory Nelson, who died one week after birth, now there are rumors about another son he may have had.

According to New York Daily News, a man has come forward claiming to be Prince’s son. He reportedly saw a television advertisement for Heir Hunters International and decided to contact them. John Hilbert of Heir Hunters International recently shared details about Prince’s alleged love child with Entertainment Tonight. Hilbert also recounted how the man’s mother crossed paths with Prince back in the day. Although his claims have yet to be confirmed or denied, Hilbert insists his claims are credible enough to pursue.

“A gentleman, in his mid-30’s, residing in America’s Midwest, having read about Heir Hunters International and having seen its two partners, Shar Mansukhani and John Hilbert, on TV, contacted the firm about the procedures for establishing his rightful paternity to Prince Rogers Nelson,” Hilbert told ET in a statement.

In the mid-1980s, his mother allegedly became involved with the “Purple Rain” singer. But, you won’t be seeing the man in question any time soon. Like Prince, he is also hoping to maintain his privacy and stay out of the spotlight despite the endless reports about Prince’s affairs. “He explained that in the mid-1980’s, his mother and the iconic singer had crossed paths on several occasions. He has asked to maintain his privacy,” he continued. “At this point, after much consideration, we have found his claim credible enough for our firm to commit its expertise and considerable resources to further investigate and advise him.”

Although the rumors about Prince’s unknown son have yet to be confirmed, Mirror Online reports that the man’s mother actually contacted Prince sometime last year. It has been reported that the man was scheduled to have open heart surgery sometime last year and the unidentified mother contacted Prince to inform him.

The Carver County Sheriff’s Office released a log of emergency calls, from Jan. 1, 2011 to Jan. 25, 2015, made to Prince’s Paisley Park residence. On one particular occasion when the woman contacted Prince, she needed a “message delivered to Prince (Roger Nelson) regarding mutual son who is having open heart surgery. Reviewed prior CFS, spoke with the complainant, informed her that we will not be conducting any kind of 3rd party messaging for her and Prince Rodgers Nelson. Incident closed.”

Apparently, this type of occurrence is exactly why Prince’s estranged half-brother, Alfred, has been worried about how the estate will be split. There has been lots of chatter about Prince having another son for quite some time. Now, his siblings’ worse fears are realized. If this man turns out to be Prince’s biological son, he could derail the entire legal battle his siblings are now embroiled in because he’d be entitled to his father’s money as the first legitimate heir in line.

“If paternity can be determined by clear and convincing evidence through DNA, the child would be recognized as Prince’s sole heir and receive the assets through intestate succession,” Minnesota estate lawyer Susan Link told The News. “There’s no statute of limitations on it.”

At this point, no DNA results have been released. However, Prince’s siblings have been informed by judges and lawyers that there may be more individuals to come forward in the near future with claims of entitlement to the massive estate. Only time will tell how things pan out for the estranged Nelson family.
