‘Arrow’ Season 4: A New Big Bad Being Cast For Season 5, Hub City Visit, And This Character To Return This Season

Arrow Season 4 has, to put it delicately, divided and sometimes cast off some of the fans of the DC Comics series and the CW show. Arrow fans, or at least some of them, have literally said that a fantastic Season 5 is the only thing that will rejuvenate their love for Emerald Archer’s show. TV Line reports that an Arrow casting call has gone out for the Season 5 big bad. Arrow Season 5’s Big bad’s description is as follows, does it sound familiar?

“An actor of any ethnicity, in his late-20s to 30s and who comes across as a physical threat. The character is said to ‘just as easily shake your hand as your best friend or break your neck as your worst enemy — and you never know which one is coming. Either way, he’s more than capable of having a good time as he does it.'”

Sadly, the Season 5 big bad’s description is simply too vague, and purposefully so.

Will Arrow Season 5 be the savior of the poorly received Season 4? Arrow fans will have to be the judge of that, though, Season 4 has not reached its finale just yet. Comicbook, however, has reported that the Green Arrow will be seeking magical help to defeat Season 4’s big bad Damien Darhk.

DC All-Access explains that Oliver will be heading to Hub City in search of help from a friend of John Constantine.

“And after the crazy events of the past few weeks, Oliver Queen has decided he has to kill Damien Darhk. Meanwhile, John Diggle is on a mission to find his brother this week. Plus, Thea goes on vacation, but not everything is what it seems. So Ollie decides he needs to find a way to defeat Damien Darhk’s magic. What does he do? He goes to a place called Hub City to possibly learn from an allie of Constantine’s, And if you’re a comic book fan, you know Hub City is the home of classic fan-favorite character The Question…”

Arrow seeking out an old-time comic book character like The Question for magical help to deal with Season 4’s big bad seems odd. John Constantine does not seem to have ever met The Question, and his character is not magical. So, Arrow fans are sadly still in the dark, but who would want to know something so pivotal from the next season anyways?

Speaking of pivotal, according to Screencrush, an old foe of the Green Arrow is said to be returning to Arrow tonight.

Deathstroke showed up in an Australian promo for DC Comics and CW’s combined efforts in The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. In one of two scenes in the Arrow section of the promo, show Deathstroke man-handling an unidentifiable character for Wednesday’s episode.

Unfortunately, there is little more information than that, as this wasn’t an official CW or DC Comics teaser for all Arrow fans to check out. So, it is anyone’s guess if Deathstroke will be in the whole episode, a flashback, or whether the original actor Manu Bennett will do a voiceover or show up at all to reprise the role.

The Inquisitr reported in February that Manu Bennett was disgusted with the CW’s handling of Deathstroke’s brief return in Arrow Season 3. Not to mention that DC Comics phased out the Suicide Squad and Deathstroke because of future cinematic intentions for some of the characters, as the former is already slated to be produced in their cinematic line-up.

Legends of Tomorrow‘s Episode “Star City 2046” utilized the character of Deathstroke, but as one his sons that carried on his legacy, long after Slade Wilson’s death. Arrow fans seem to have a reason again to keep an eye out for Slade as Deathstroke.
