‘Friends’ Reunion Odds At 45 Percent, According To Matthew Perry

Could a Friends reunion ever happen? Matthew Perry says it’s “not totally unlikely” that Friends fans could see the NBC sitcom return to the small screen, according to MStars News. Ever since the last episode of the show, which aired on May 6, 2004, fans have been discussing the chances of a reunion or reboot of their favorite show.

In his recent conversation with UK’s Magic Radio, Perry, who played Chandler Bing on Friends, said the chances of a reunion or a reboot are very low but not totally unlikely. Perry spoke with a British radio station promoting his new play in London. The Friends actor said that fans of the NBC comedy constantly speculate about a reboot or a Friends reunion episode, but in his opinion, it’s not in the cards in the near future. However, there was a glimpse of hope in Perry’s words.

Perry said all the main six actors of Friends could find time to work together if creators of the comedy sitcom ever decide to make the highly-anticipated Friends reunion happen. In fact, Perry says there is a “45 percent” chance that a reunion or a reboot could happen.

“I don’t want to risk doing something bad and ruining, tarnishing the image of it. [However,] I would say 45 percent that it could happen – I think the actors would do it, I’m not sure that the writers would do it.”

That’s the first time one of the Friends cast members has stated that the show’s stars could get together for Season 11 or a reunion episode. In February this year, Perry couldn’t join his fellow cast members of the NBC sitcom to pay tribute to Friends director James Burrows.

In the final episode of Friends Season 10, Ross Geller, portrayed by David Schwimmer, realizes he is still in love with Rachel Green, played by Jennifer Aniston. Ross then runs to the airport to tell Rachel about his feelings, but it didn’t stop her from getting on that plane.

While sitting in the plane, Rachel changes her mind after thinking about Ross’ words. She races to his apartment and tells him that she loves him.

In the final episode of Friends, Erica (played by Anna Faris) is seen giving birth to twins, whom Chandler (Perry) and Monica (played by Courteney Cox) name Jack and Erica.

And to this day, more than 12 years after the last episode, Friends fans are still hoping to see the six main stars of the sitcom return to the small screen together. In fact, the fans have a number of questions that have kept them tossing and turning for the past 12 years, according to Life Style.

One of the questions is whether Monica and Chandler are still married. Friends fans are also wondering what’s going on between Ross and Rachel — is their relationship strong, or have they gone through a breakup since Rachel got off the plane to tell Ross she loves him?

Just recently, Perry said he would love his former Friends co-star Cox to guest star alongside him for a mini Friends reunion in his sitcom The Odd Couple, according to the International Business Times. Friends fans would surely love to see Cox and Perry return to the small screen together.

When asked by a fan during a Facebook Q&A session if he would consider Cox guest-starring on the show, Perry answered he would love to have her on the CBS show. If the former Friends co-stars indeed reunite, it wouldn’t be the first time the two have starred in the same show since the last episode of Friends, as Perry made a guest appearance in Cox’s television series, Cougar Town, while she made a cameo his 2012’s sitcom Go On.

Even more recently, though, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry had another mini Friends reunion in London, of all places!

Time reported that the most recent Friends reunion took place when LeBlanc visited Perry on the set of his London-based stage production.

Even if a proper Friends reunion never occurs, fans will always be excited to keep track of the stars’ careers and to watch out for any future mini Friends reunions.
