Katy Perry Shares Her Oddball Beauty And Fashion Secrets

Katy Perry is known for her kooky sense of style, but some of her fashion and beauty secrets may raise eyebrows.

The “Dark Horse” singer revealed the one beauty secret she relies on for looking fresh and alert at all times, even when she’s on a never-ending world tour. Perry told Self magazine that she started drinking Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar in exchange for soda. Perry’s mom told her about the health benefits of the vinegar, which has a mix of probiotics and nutrients.

“I was drinking strange green juices and apple cider vinegar my whole childhood. My mom made sure that whatever was put into my body was good for my body. I really am glad for that, even though it was disgusting.”

Katy Perry noticed that drinking apple cider vinegar on a regular basis helped keep the flu or the common cold away, so that she would never have to cancel an upcoming performance or appearance. Her new drinking habit may sound disgusting to some of her fans, but experts claim there are serious health benefits to drinking unpasteurized apple cider vinegar.

“Apple cider vinegar has been studied for its potential role in blood sugar management, appetite control, and digestion, as well as immune function,” according to New York City registered dietitian Jessica Cording. “The unpasteurized version contains some probiotics, whereas pasteurized varieties don’t.”

Katy Perry turned heads with her unique look at the 2016 Met Gala, which took place Monday evening, May 2, in New York City. The always colorful singer opted for a Gothic look this time around. Perry wore a black velvet Prada gown with gold keys and embroidery adorned on her bodice and train. Perry had her signature black hair styled in a beehive with bangs, a dark lip, and bleached eyebrows.

Both the singer and her boyfriend Orlando Bloom made a cute little statement on their outfits. They both wore a Tamagotchi keychain. It’s hard to notice it on Katy’s busy gown, but Orlando proudly displayed his on his burgundy blazer. Katy previously dished to People about their adorable Met Gala look and how it fits the “Manus X Machina” theme.

“I’ve had two Tamagotchis located in Connecticut and I just feel a little like…like I’m in tech but I’m not playing your game. But I’ve been keeping these b****es alive since ’96,” she joked.

When it came to makeup, the beauty maiden wore blue eyeliner and mascara along with black “Perry Panther” lipstick, all from her Katy Kat CoverGirl collection. Meanwhile, Perry’s hairdo was styled by her hairstylist Chris Appleton, who described the look as an “iconic hairdo.”

“The beehive needed to look sharp and futuristic. Katy’s dress is incredible and we wanted her hair to complement and ties in with the overall look without competing with it.”

Prior to fashion’s biggest event, the Prismatic pop star revealed to reports on May 1 at a CoverGirl event one dirty little fashion secret. Perry confessed that she may need to wear a diaper underneath her gown after wearing a gown during last year’s long event.

“I’m wearing a really large thing tomorrow, which will be very difficult to use the restroom in. I might just wear a diaper. I don’t really care. I am just going to be looking around for people to help me to the restroom.”

Even though a diaper doesn’t sound as sexy as Spanx or lingerie, Katy says that wearing a gown always makes her feel as if she’s dressing for her own wedding.

“I’ll feel like one of those brides or something, but there’s a lot going on with the dress,” she added.

In case you want to know, Perry told Elite Daily that she does not sweat like the rest of us average folks. She says that since she has combination skin, her makeup doesn’t melt off, even when she’s performing or under heavy lights.

It’s no secret that Katy Perry has good skin. She may have been the face of Proactiv in the past, but her beauty secret includes a face steam and then washing her face with Shu Uemura oil. And of course, Perry has one more semi-gross beauty secret to share. She uses toilet seat covers as blotting papers since it’s the fastest and easiest way to get rid of excess oil throughout the day.
