Ellen DeGeneres Launches Digital Empire, Has Hillary Clinton’s Back

Ellen DeGeneres minces no words when it comes to who her president is going to be, come November 8. The prolific talk show host, comedian, producer, and social media baroness explains why Hillary Clinton will always have her vote and why she is taking her world-renowned show to the digital age.

Ellen DeGeneres heralds the next phase of her development strategy as going digital. As well, she is updating the content of brands associated with her name to capture the millennials. Millennials are male and female Americans between 18 and 34 years old.

Currently, the Ellen DeGeneres TV stints, especially the daily talk show, cater mostly to women who are 25 to 54 years old. By inking a deal with YouTube superstar Tyler Oakley, DeGeneres hopes to become more relevant to younger audiences, according to AdWeek.

When all is said and done, any and all projects associated with Ellen DeGeneres will come under the banner “Ellen Digital Network.” Deadline, which revealed the major deal, also indicates that the new digital network has DeGeneres all excited about the future.

“I’m so excited for the Ellen Digital Network. I’ll get to showcase amazing talents like Tyler Oakley and tWitch. Plus, I’ll finally prove to the world that my pets can speak in human voices.”

Ellen DeGeneres has come a long way. She started with Ellen, the popular sitcom that ran from 1994 to 1998. Since 1993, Ellen has been hosting her syndicated TV talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Although Ellen’s last name almost rhymes with the English word degenerate, the phenomenal growth of her career and production ventures is the exact opposite of the word’s meaning.

According to Deadline: “DeGeneres ranks as the No. 1 creator of digital content online, with more than 1.1 billion total cross-platform views according to Tubular’s November 2015 survey.”

And that is just the tip of the iceberg for the dynamic, vibrant TV personality, who endears herself daily to her audience. She does this by serving a daily dish of viral videos from EllenTube and from #MadeByYou, which showcases the rare talents of DeGeneres’ loyal viewers. Of course, an Ellen DeGeneres show is never complete without some spirited dancing on the part of the talk show host and her burgeoning studio viewership.

But beyond her signature dance moves, DeGeneres is easily recognizable for her quick smile as well as ability to laugh at herself. Through her talk show, she gives her daily dose of inspiration and knowledge. In so doing, Ellen DeGeneres makes it easy and convenient for people to keep up with the internet’s explosive content, as well to make sense of it.

In the January 11 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the host captures the essence of the Hillary Clinton personality. Ellen DeGeneres makes it so easy for Clinton, to open up about why she is running for the presidency. Clinton states how, ultimately, partisan politics don’t matter, as people do not care whether the president is a Republican or a Democrat. What matters is “what can I do to help.”

DeGeneres says this to Hillary Clinton: “I think that you are as smart as can be. I think that you are qualified. I think that you stand for everything I want in a president.”

As expected, such statements coming from Ellen DeGeneres will generate a mixture of positive and negative reactions from an audience, which comes from many different backgrounds. However, the fact that DeGeneres says everything confidently and unpretentiously is a testament to the host’s toughness and ability to not mince her words. She is clearly endorsing her candidate for the upcoming U.S. elections on national television, but she doesn’t have to make apologies for doing so. After all, it’s her show, and she is Ellen DeGeneres.
